He got his "teef" fixed back in the late 1970's before they released "Some Girls" in 1978 I was at the first show for that tour on June 8, 1978 in Lakeland, Fla. at the Civic Center. There wasn't any advance publicity at all. My guitar teacher called me on the phone at 3 in the afternoon a few days before the show and told me The Rolling Stones were rehearsing at The Lakeland Civic Center and to get my ass down there NOW if I wanted tickets to the first show of the Some Girls tour. So I went down there and bought an outrageously high priced ticket that cost $10.50 lol (concerts were MUCH cheaper then...I saw Eric Clapton a few weeks before that for $3) The ticket didn't say anything about The Stones. It read "The Great Stoned Out Wrestling Champions" The whole 12,000 tickets sold out in 2 hours with NO publicity...just word of mouth. They rehearsed for 5 days there and then did the show. My mom was a deputy sheriff in Polk County and worked security for the show. She told me that backstage that they (the cops) were standing around Mick Jagger and Ron Wood while the two of them were doing MASSIVE amounts of cocaine and drinking Jack Daniels from the bottle a few minutes before showtime! She and all the other cops were told NOT to arrest them and that there job was to make sure nobody got near them! lol She said that when it was time for the show that Mick Jagger was a bundle of nerves and was chain smoking and drinking heavy. Then right as the curtain was going up they wheeled Keith Richards in. Yeah WHEELED him in! Mom said that he was hooked up to an oxygen tank and she thought that he was about to be taken to the hospital and there would be no show. Instead they stood him up, put a guitar around his neck, a cigarette in his mouth and shoved him out onstage and he "came alive" lol Now that's rock-n-roll! :pimp |
let rock stars to do lines, and protect them. money can do anything
|
I've never seen the Stones in concert.... I was a big fan in the 80s - Tattoo You and all that...
|
Rochard ….. You need to go once before Richards dies.

I watched the documentary on HBO the other night "Crossfire Hurricane" about The Stones. And Charlie Watts was talking about all the different people who had died over the years trying to hang with Keith. He said: "The funny thing is, people get around Keith and they think they ARE Keith." |

I went and saw The Eagles in concert a couple of weeks ago here in Vegas. And Glenn Fry of The Eagles put it perfectly: "The 70's were a time when sex didn't kill you and you weren't 'taking drugs'...you were 'expanding your mind'! " :pimp |
Should be more like 70 and counting......:D

Jesus christ.. tickets are like $500 for the nose bleed seats in Oakland,CA at Oracle Arena... to get row 6 it'll cost you damn near $5000 from the online ticket brokers.. It's a once in a lifetime thing for some people.. but for me.. no thanks not for $500-$5000
