My perception of time has radically altered...

Since I stopped drinking ALL DAY - Every day...

Its weird cause you'd think if your permanently drunk, that time would just blur together, and when sober (and being aware of being in the 'moment') I would feel that days and weeks were longer...

But I dont. Example: I have a chinese meal every friday night. Back when I was drinking, it would be friday night, and I'd feel that I had not had a chinese for ages... But tonight is Chinese night again, and it feels like the last time I had it, was about 3 days ago...

Likewise, yesterday, I realised that it was a week ago, that a friend had come round with his Son, who had had a great report from school. I gave him a fiver as a reward for his effort... But again, it only seemed like a few days ago..

Its freaking weird.

You may wonder if there is a point to this post... In truth, there isnt. Well, actually, there is. I was considering having a drink.... But I decided to write this post instead, while I wait for the shop to open, so I can go and buy some milk to drink instead :thumbsup

It's a proven fact... drugs and alcohol (well depressants anyways) slow down your perception of time. It's all relative. Basically, living your entire life completely baked will make you feel like you've lived twice as long as somebody that didn't. :2 cents:

Congrats on your sobriety. :thumbsup:thumbsup

Are you awake for longer periods of time so feeling like there are less days instead of an awake => drink => doze => awake => drink => doze cycle?

Fair play... Never really thought of it like that before...

Except for ME.. (Slightly...)

If I didn't... I'd still be killing myself every day :(

As it stands I'm only killing myself once a month or so... :(

Do you get hangovers? I have a negative association with drinking as I know I'm sending myself a hangover in the post. I wonder if people who drink a lot don't suffer so much the day after.

The ones I know still get hangovers, they just don't seem to care. I don't care for drinking much because I hate the way I feel the next day.

So if being drunk slow down your perception of time, does that mean you can get more done in that time? If so I need to start drinking more! lol
