16 is still used in television and continues to produce a beautiful picture. So sensor size means pretty much nothing in this case. It will be all about the picture. A 13 stop dynamic range in the portable is a good sign and pretty much puts it past anything currently on the market at that price point. The Panasonic GH2/GH3 in particular will be hurt by this.
And BlackMagics Super35 4k is going to be the real deal. As they proved with their current 2.5k offering, they know what they're doing. Can't really compare it to your Hero. Completely different leagues. This is Black Magick's answer to the Red Scarlet, at half the price. The Hero isn't even on their radar.
Not sure how this thing is going to stack up against the Epic. It obviously won't compete with the Dragon which they recently announced.
