NiXXiN 04-12-2013 01:34 AM

lets start a team on btcguild, we can mine together and see our stats n shit

AllAboutCams 04-12-2013 01:45 AM

Im up for litecoin

NiXXiN 04-12-2013 01:45 AM

anyone who mines bitcoins here or has a gfx card then lets all team up together. first of all download GUIMiner here:

https://github.com/downloads/Kiv/poc...r-20121203.exe

then goto www.btcguild.com and make an account, its really easy, just a username and password.

once your in then goto settings and under account settings Click on Join Team and under the dropdown list select:

GFY Team

once selected go back to guiminer and select BTC Guild (Any) Server from the dropdown.
Put in your username and password and now click "Start Mining"

And there you go, now your mining bitcoins. The Btcguild.com site will show all your stats and how many bitcoins you have made.

Enjoy!

I won't have my shit running before monday i'm afraid.

So on btcguild we can start our own group?

I'll sign up to them. How do you start a new group? Will do you all that stuff?

Nope, i have everything out of the case.
Everything works but my screen stays black.
I have no clue what it is. Spent hours on it.
I built 2 machines recently without a problem but this i can't figure out. Someone will come and help me today or tomorrow.

I joined the pool btw.

This is awesome :)

NiXXiN 04-12-2013 02:08 AM

damn that sucks, you connecting to it using hdmi? if so make sure the monitor has been switched to the correct mode, this problem happened to me the other day and i had no fucking idea lol

EddyTheDog 04-12-2013 02:09 AM

I wish I could - Its a bad day, well actually a bad decade to ask for money...

I'm with you in spirit though!

Dirty F 04-12-2013 02:14 AM

Eric, can you make this thread sticky please :1orglaugh

CurrentlySober 04-12-2013 02:15 AM

i like things that are 'sticky...'

candyflip 04-12-2013 04:39 AM

I haven't tried mining Bitcoins, but I'm doing well with Litecoins.

I'm down for this.

hdkiller 04-17-2013 01:06 AM

I have headless usb pendrive linux rigs with cgminer for litecoin :)

thebedshark 04-17-2013 04:39 AM

I started a pool Here at Triplemining this morning, If anyone wants to join. I've had some of my hashing power pointed here since they started in 2011. It's a smaller pool, But reliable. And they have a jackpot giveaway every week and no fee's.

Use the above link to join GFY Mining Team

Happy Hashing

anexsia 04-17-2013 04:42 AM

I would join but right now I'm putting all of my power towards mining Litecoins.

thebedshark 04-17-2013 05:00 AM

I also see someone started a team at BTCGuild named GFY Team, I moved my hashing power I have there over to the team. :thumbsup

Happy Hashing

Mining bitcoin is a waste of time and effort. Even if you have ASIC miners. It's 10x more profitable to mine litecoin and exchange for bitcoin. Would you rather mine 2 litecoins a day at the exchange of 0.027 or mine 0.002 bitcoins a day with the same hash power?

Lykos 04-17-2013 06:11 AM

Computer needs to stay online all the time?

To each his own, It really depends on why your doing it, Or if you have enough hashing power to spread around. Some early adopters are actually doing it because they believe in Bitcoin itself and not strictly for short term profit, I'm in it for the long term, Because I believe in Bitcoin.

I cashed in a handfull or so a couple of years ago when it spiked to 32$ and that covered my power consumption for a couple of years, And then I just cashed in another handfull at $250, And that'll cover my power for a bunch more years. It all depends on your long term plan.

Don't get me wrong, I have one of my rigs mining Litecoins too. :winkwink:

Well that depends, you may get more lite coins than bit coins but the prices are completely different, bitcoin can fluctuate $50 in one day, lite coin may fluctuate a few dollars.

No, You don't have to.

If you can't leave your rig on 24/7, Make sure you use a PPS pool, No matter which coin
your mining (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Etc.)

Yes, that's why I'm saying exchange them for bitcoins. You can get 0.04 bitcoins a day by mining litecoins vs 0.004-6 or w/e you would get by mining bitcoins directly. Let the Chinese with their 50,000Thash/s ASIC mining farms mine the rest of bitcoins. You're minuscule hashing power isn't going to make or break bitcoins. Gone are the days of bitcoin being at 500 difficulty and getting 50 bitcoin block rewards.

But if you're just in it because you think your 50Ghash/s is going to insure bitcoin success and not in it to make money then you can stick with bitcoin mining. I just assumed people liked making money :Oh crap

BTW: If/When litecoin does get on MTGox I'd expect a decent rally :2 cents:

tony286 04-17-2013 06:32 AM

What kind of set up would you need to mine 50 bit coins a day?

~800Ghash/s if I mathed correctly... a 50Ghash ASIC miner runs $2,500

So you would need 16 of those ASIC rigs costing you $40,000.

Also expect the difficulty to rapidly increase over a couple weeks/months. So you may start out at 50 bitcoins day at the beginning of the month and end up at 30 bitcoins by the end of the month.

FYI: That same hash power if you mined litecoins instead and exchanged them for bitcoins would be 67 bitcoins a day.

I feel like my math might be wrong somewhere... feel free to verify

Do you know much about powered risers
I have 3 7950 with non powered riser and want to add another 7950 4 total they all have 2x 8pin power pins on top which should give 300w each, some people are saying i need a powered riser as the mother board wont take it.

MikeRoth 04-17-2013 07:03 AM

Tried to check math on a bitcoin calculator and it seems even more off than my math...
http://blockchained.com/profit/index.php

800Gh/s assuming $40k for the hardware and free electricity. The hardware would pay for itself in 11 days. Turning a $77k profit in the first month. ~$100k the second month.

Plus difficulty is going to 9 million in a couple of hours :2 cents:

Mark.Roy 04-17-2013 10:50 AM

nice, gonna upgrade my machine soon.

Lykos 04-21-2013 03:05 AM

If it has to be SHA256, there are lots of new coins. More risk, more fun :upsidedow
