Actors and actresses that you think are really great but most people can't name.

The first to come to my mind is Eddie Marsan. He is in a ton of stuff, is always great but most people don't know his name even if they know his face.

The first that comes to my mind is Andy Serkis, because the roles he is most well known for had him under CGI:
Caesar in Planet of the Apes,
Kong in King Kong, and
Smeagol/Gollum in Lord of the Rings.

He did a great job in Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, the Ian Dury biopic. Also, you might have to be British or know your serial killers to appreciate but his portrayal of Ian Brady in the tv movie Longford was pretty special.

Maybe he needs to just keep playing people called Ian.

Every time I see a picture of Phillip Seymour Hoffman it reminds me of this clip that Howard Stern likes to play. It was from the red carpet of the Oscars a few year back and someone is interviewing Serena Williams. They ask her who she is looking forward to seeing and who she would like to see win. She says, "I really like Phillip Semen Hoffman."

Elias Koteas, Paul Giamatti, James Purefoy and Tommy Flannagan are the first that come to my mind

I also think he's pretty well known now, due to his distinctive looks and probably Hellboy, but until recently I didn't realize he's the guy who played Vincent in the 80s TV show Beauty and the Beast.

John Carroll Lynch is one face I notice in quite a few movies, but couldn't put a name to.

My pick from what I already posted in that thread is obviously Michael Shannon. I think Man of Steel will help him break out and The Iceman will be one that shows he's head and shoulders above most Hollywood stars.

I guess its possible. But anyone who has any real interest in movies has to know who he is. Although wasnt in many flicks because of his early passing. He was one of the greats. So versitile. I think he already was dying in either godfather 2 or reindeer games. Dont rememer which one but I remember I think Meryl Streep talking a out it. That he was basically dying and acting at the same time. They were dating at the time. Pretty sure it was her.

Hes one of the main characters in Son of Anarchy which is one of the biggest shows on TV.

I was unaware of him until his bone chilling turn as Gun in Breaking Bad. That had me go back and find a few of his other movies to check out. He is good.

For the record his name is Danny Trejo. Had to look it up or wouldn't have been able to tell you that.

He's literally been in everything and has one of the longest IMDB pages I've ever seen.
