I noticed this too. Likely thousands upon thousands of sites down. PR will be slammed if it stay down for many. Uh oh.....

Crazy shit is there are a LOT of sites out there that are PR2, PR3 and PR4 because of having a link high on TWANS directories.

So even if you stayed away from them, you will still get fucked because your partners didn't.

I can't see any reason why someone would be done with all that traffic. I would assume he does quite well. I would not kill it on purpose if it were me.

Time to start buying a ton of domains or start a network and directory.

I'd sell it for a lot of money before I killed it.

I've offered to buy any portion he wants to sell on multiple occasions. I don't think anyone totally gets what the deal is there.

I have a free blog host set up on a dedicated server that I am allowing friends/affiliates use. It's very clean. If anyone is interested, ICQ me and we can discuss.

Seemed like 4 to 5 days went by with nobody accepting new submissions and that certain sites starting breaking... top lists not showing. On one the directory was completely broken altogether.

That sucks. I think I had around 36 blogs with them.

I also had dozens of clips posted at DailyMotion, but someone decided one of my clips was not acceptable, so they killed off my account in its entirety - all clips gone.

But in the end that's always the risk you take when you use third party services.

Why do you say lost? From your first post it looks like unnoticed downtime or something like that. It would be stupid to kill sites on his end.

The writing has been on the wall for that place since at least three years. He's hardly been around. As I recall he monetized almost entirely from AFF with a text link in the header.

I have some blogs there but it's really old stuff. I hope he comes back. I agree that it's certainly worth something but Twan has always seemed like his heart was not into it for at least three years now. Right around the time of the continuing porn crash due to piracy. He's been very flaky since that time.

I do not understand such people, he could have at least made ONE clear statement during those 3 years. Is that too much to ask from anybody, lol

If it hasn't been more than a week there is a good chance it may come back yet when he notices. My impression is that he is focused on other things. He probably didn't want to tell people to leave because it meant losing money. Just like how affiliates who leave the business often leave their sites on autopilot as long as they are profitable.

He is always very selective in talking to his users as it was. The crappy thing is that the support forum site is also down.

LinkSpun.com official status on the matter: All trades with his free hosted blogs are not going to get checked for a minimum of a week to see if anybody can figure out what is going on. If you have trades in error and they bother you, just hit the check button on them and they will go back to not being in error.

A lot of my blog networks are down as well and I have no idea why, but I can still FTP and everything seems normal besides 404s.. :(

He's been offline for years I think.

I think it's bad new bears for everyone on his hosts for the long haul.

No shit. He build an empire of these things.

I'd guess that everything was on auto-pilot and some bill didn't get paid = the server was taken offline.

It's crazy to think that no one who uses those sites regularly has "real life" contact with him. Those sites are pretty important to a lot of people.

anytime i have been checking my serps, subdomains on those sites had always nice rankings ... now if all is gone, that is a big serps and traffic loss, but for other seo people a good move ... i know i know, but that is the truth :winkwink: sorry for all who lost their businesses :Oh crap
