best ad plugin for wordpress?

looking for an ad plugin that will allow me to add banners into my existing posts (top / middle / end of post choices).

What's the best solution for this?

thanks

Thanks, I will check it out, I have been using adman, however wanted to see what else is about with perhaps more control.

AdRotate is the best, but now they're charging for most of the features. Anyway, the "lite" edition might work for you :2 cents:

I had a look at that earlier and felt quite wary about using it after reading some reviews. The developers who made it stripped features out of the free version rather than adding new features for a paid variant (pretty shitty way to go about things really).

adrotate has always been my fav

femdomdestiny 04-18-2013 06:05 PM

openx. Reliable, many options, ctr tracking, site distribution statistics, plugins.Yes,it is complicated to set, but once you do it , it is completely different story. I am using it on my network www.femdomclicks.info

I use Adrotate and OpenX.

Like femdomdestiny said, OpenX is a pain in the ass to set up and personally,I think it's a pain in the ass to maintain as well. But, it has some features that can be useful if you want your advertisers to be able to create and manage their own campaigns.

Adrotate is simple, straight forward, and I prefer it for WP sites. I have not upgraded to the stripped down version nor paid for the new one.

Cheers, I will likely give it a go as it looks really good. For now wp-ads that Supz suggested does the trick.

Thanks, I have OpenX setup for some mainstream sites and it is way too bloated for what I want - just need to drop ads into the start of a blog (only will be one ad that will ever be there).

Cheers, Aaron. Have had similar experiences with OpenX and really do not need the features is has for this. Will give adrotate a go too.

wp-banners from tribulant also i like (paid) the thing i like it over adrotate, is with adrotate if you want to insert a banner you have to go to the adrotate panel and copy the shortcode, with the wp banners it has a visual editor button where you can insert it into your post without leaving it.

although its not that hard to code something up to integrate with the editor to do this.

The widget bar...

I've always used this one:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...-datafeedrcom/

Once you have your ads set up you add a small piece of code anywhere on your blog and the ads rotate - I use it in between posts.

Also comes with a widget for your sidebar.

We can bring back the glory!

No account needed that I can see and once you have it on your blog it seems you can put what you like on it as you're hosting it...

They do have a site where you can buy a plugin to build a Wordpress store front - so I guess that might be unfriendly towards adult stuff - but never used that.

This is just a typical plugin to download and use with no sign ups etc...

The older version felt much easier to use - not sure if you can still download it anywhere...

But this is pretty simple even for me lol...

Quick Adsense is one of the plug ins I use the most. It's quite simple yet it's not just for adsense.

This plugin will add your random ads (any HTML code) to the bottoms of all existing posts: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-quote/
