Yeah, I think they were recording from both a mic feed and the stadium loudspeakers. Several YT vids were recorded the same way.

I am a huge sox fan and had that game recorded. Really excited to watch that performance and of course when I got to it the sound was totally f'd up. I was really disappointed, they just played the recording they always play (with Neil singing) and he had to Sing along with it lol. I felt bad for Neil, and the crowd that was looking around like WHAT THE FUCK.

no, its painful.. hehe I understand it's a boston thing and have atter.. but they started playing that at tiger games even... find your own identity! sheesh!

not like there isnt' a thousand good motown songs they could use as a tradition instead..
