Somebody's going to jail. AP twitter account hacked

My apologies if this was already posted. Looked, did not see it.

The AP twitter account got hacked and someone tweeted that there were explosions in the White House and that Obama had been injured. Stock market dropped either 128 or 145 points or more than 150 (depending on the source you read) in seconds. Came back up just as quick once AP said they had been hacked.

Because, my deluded little friend, in this day and age information spreads at the speed of light and it is often erroneous.

Which is why more rational people try to be patient and wait till facts are clear before they take action based upon that information.

I said rational people. If you have ever been to a Wall Street area bar then you know that the people of Wall Street do not fit that description.

But, from what I heard on the news it was mainly computer trades that caused the drop. They said that there are programs that scan headlines for keywords/phrases and takes automatic action. I would not have thought that they would have shit at that level of automation. If they do, then it is not too smart.

One reporter commented about a 140 character tweet causing this much havoc across the world.
