Why Bitcoin software doesn't work for me?
So i have downloaded that program for mac http://bitcoin.org/en/ but it never gets synchronized. I'm trying to get it synchronized since gfy bitcoing madness, but that never happens.
Any clues? |
It can take a while downloading the whole block-chain, it's quite large.
If you don't want to wait for it to synchronize etc, try a light-weight client like Electrum: http://electrum.org/ |
no idea on bitcoin but my litecoin wallet took about 6 hours to sink
|

yea, takes forever to sync, don't expect it to be done in a couple of hours... after that it's way more smooth, only takes few mins each time...

Said this the other day in another thread:
Bitcoin is a pain in ass to deal with. Just try to open a wallet, and when you open the program "bitcoin-qt", it will start syncronizing, and keep syncronizing for DAYS!! WTF? And every time you need to open the program it will start SYNC again to update the file, and it will take very long. A true pain in the ass to deal with. It should be instantly, not SYNC every time you open the program, What kind of shitty program is that?... Just try it for yourself and you will see... It's strange that almost nobody posted compaining about it here before my message... It's like they understand by default that it will take days to sync? That's not normal.. Very strange, or people are just to fucking shy to even ask... |

The bitcoin client takes about an hour to sync on my computer when first installed and maybe about 2 minutes to sync any time I restart it after a few days. |

took me abt 36 hours to get it sync :pimp |
I'm not an expert but I've played with mining. Your Mac probably isn't powerful enough to solve any blocks, and if you joined a pool, you'd have a very small contribution of processing power. Are you just looking to create a Bitcoin wallet? If so, try Coinbase.com. It's hosted so you don't have to deal with the fucking blockchain which is just going to consume more and more data.
