Tent Pitcher 04-29-2013 09:43 PM

Hey, I have worked with that graphic artist before (on a mainstream business though)...

Having said that, trying to appeal to peoples' sense of exclusivity doesn't seem so much like an MLM as it does a way to try and raise an initial round of funding without disclosing anything about the product so they can finish up before hitting up the "real" investors. Of course it will work on some people - the same people who forward chain letters so their loved ones don't die under horrific circumstances (please stop forwarding me emails Mom), but I wouldn't throw a dime of my money at it if they aren't willing to offer up a little more product info, drop some names, or something.

And I've got to think that if someone had something hotter than email in their possession, they wouldn't need to resort to these guerrilla marketing tactics to raise capital.

mayabong 04-29-2013 09:45 PM

Alot of my marketing friends are trying to get me into that. Might be ok but I'm busy with other things. I am a member of Solavei and have not one complaint. You can make $$ if you put some effort.

Whenever comments are disabled .... you know exactly why...

Also I love how people say they have a game changing idea that will go viral.

shake 04-29-2013 09:55 PM

They promise people that they can make money by just installing the app and inviting people. A lot of people will fall for this (they make them feel special by telling them they are one of the first, and they promise them they will make money from all the people below them), so thousands of people will install this app. They will then invite all their friends hoping to make money and tell them the same story and within no time there will be millions of people that have the app installed.

Then once the app has millions and millions of users it will be used as a social advertising platform. Companies can advertise their products/apps, and the users that share will get a % of the sales/installs, based on a MLM scheme.
