Talking of Private Jets
Who's had experience flying privately? whats it like? How much does it cost? |
Depends, usually 5 to 10k in the usa.
|
what about London to Vegas & back?
|
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
I hate flying. I hate the small cramped seats, sitting next to strangers... I just put my headphones on and watch a movie and that's that. |
never done it on my list of shit to do tho :thumbsup:thumbsup

I have been learning to fly for last 6 months and managed about 25 hours towards my PPL - it is great fun, slightly scary and lots to learn. Am slightly shitting myself for first solo in a few hours, but am determined to get my PPL :)

1st class and private jets are an epic waste of money...you can fly over half the globe for like 1000$ return...
|
One of my friends invited me on her private jet a few times.
incredible experience. It was netjets. no way could I afford it on my own but it is something to tick off your things to do in life list. |

Business class + Xanax is good enough for anyone unless you do the trip weekly. :thumbsup

All depends on the size of the jet, and the current cost of fuel. I haven't been on a private jet for a couple of years, but last time it worked out to about $1200 per hour of flight in a small jet. That sounds like a lot, but for example a 4 hour flight will get you cross-country, and would cost $4800, but split it between four of you and it's the same as first class and WAAAAAAAY better. It's so much easier not having to deal with all the security at the front end, as well as not having to wait for your bags at the other end, and getting into and out of the airport through the general aviation terminals is super fast. Basically you just drive up and walk through to your plane at your departure airport, and then walk away from the plane and drive off at the other end. The lack of hassle compared in contrast to flying commercial is stunning. Plus, of course, it's much more comfortable,
(and you can stand up and pretend to surf as you are taking off! LOL!!) . |

Am I the only one that doesn't like the idea of small planes? hehe |
The biggest benefit to me in flying private is access to small local airports. Most trips I take are to companies that aren't close to major cities/airports. I fly in the props more than the jets. Even small jets need a lot more runway than prop planes.
|
If your talking about chartering a jet you are talking about major money. Remember its not just the fuel you pay for but the pilot co pilot in most cases as well as food ramp fees etc.
It gets really costly. |

Or are you talking the 172 RG single engine 1972 piece of beat up tin? |

Had a client that had 2 small private jets (6-8 people)... 1 to charter out and another that the 1st plane paid for. Use to fly to Vegas with him once in a while...
Very cool not having to worry about TSA, xray machines and baggage check. The best though was being picked up and dropped off on the tarmac at LV airport in a limo (there's a small private jet area). Unfortunately the real estate bust took both jets from him... |
Minte you don't belong on GFY. You're really out of place and character here.
#shocking ! |
OP lives in his moms basement or a shithole somewhere. People who believe in reptile Illuminati rulers can't even afford to fly first class.
|
It get addictive.
No line up, almost no customs... but a good private jet.. is a friend's private jet. |

I lol'ed at reptile illuminati. |
when i drove a rig i would deliver to this place where the people have a airport as their backyard. most the people that lived there were doctors and lawyers. must be nice :2 cents:
