I would think most of them have lived a pretty hard life growing up gender-confused, likely shunned by many including family and constantly feeling misunderstood. That many of them grow up to be any or all the things you suggest comes as no surprise to me.

One thing that has always baffled me is guys who pretend it's not extremely easy to know if someone is a tranny or not. While in college, I took an abnormal psy class (back in 2001), so transgendered issues were consered "abnormal" back then. Being that it was only 2.5 pages of the entire text book, I chose that as my topic to write my 10 page essay on. I wish I still had the paper where the professor game me a A+ then wrote "I'm scared to know how you wrote 10 pages on a 2.5 page segment... but good for you!" :1orglaugh

Regarding either M2F or F2M (which probably have it the worst), this is not easy for them what so ever.
