Google: What changed 08/2012 - 9/2012 ?
 

I went through some stats and I've noticed a significant decline for some sites starting in late August or early September 2012 and continuing on each month. Does anyone recall what changed around that time? Was it a major Penguin revision?

Ah okay. Thanks. That makes perfect sense. But damn. In that case there isn't much I can do which is worthwhile time versus profit wise to recover those sites. :( I was hoping it was Penguin so I could add a few nofollow tags to some iffy links.

If you think that your sites were affected by EMD (exact match domain) then yeah, it can be a bitch to fix.. If not, do some more research. :upsidedow
