Wordpress: Redirecting visitors from image url to post url
Hello my friends.
I would like to redirect visitors coming directly to my image url from stumbleupon eg. wp-content/uploads/2012/01/thepicturename.jpg to the the post eg. 2012/correspondingpost/ This is just for a few pictures that can be done individually, not a catch all solution. Is there a simple solution for a simple guy like myself? |
htaccess coding will help you with that

Would this do the trick? http://wpu.me/301-redirect-with-htaccess/ |
Wouldn't SU have an issue with this kind of thing? Can't imagine it being the best practice.

Well I would not imagine so, this is content that was not submitted by me. Content is usually submitted via post url, however the way it is in a few cases people have submitted content directly linking to the image, which in the end would mean image leeching on part of stumbleupon.
There really is nothing in it for me if I have 250k visits to a picture if i can't show them my beautiful ads. |

Getting traffic from SU is somehow very hard for me compared to other sources like tumblr etc.
