Mastercard SCAM!
 

I use segpay as my secondary processor and I really don't need Mastercard as I don't have enough sales through segpay. I emailed them last week and told them that I wanted to opt out. Guess what I was charged 500$ today. They are telling me I HAD TO PAY.

Is this a scam or what?

you have a MC option on your cc page?

I told segpay to remove it altogether but was charged anyway. They say I had to pay.

Do you people ever read Terms and Conditions pages?

With CCBILL you do not "HAVE" to pay, so I wouldn't say MC "forced you"...

I took a read to their T&C and can't find a single reference to charges for unused services, no sure what do you mean

With CCBILL and Epoch you can chose whether you want to pay or not. I don't know why I had to pay this fee.

As much as I hate that fucking fee...it's not MC that "forced his payment".

Sorry my mistake. Segpay scam then. Although I like the people behind the company I am not happy for being forced to pay for something I don't want.

I asked them, "Do I HAVE to pay?"
reply: "Yes"

I have 5 billers, includes segpay, and I pay $2500 to mastercard, not just $500. That's ok.

None the less, $2500 doesn't walk down the street and you'd rather have kept that money

Well it keeps out smaller competitors too, bigger programs can even be happy, no?

Finally some barriers to entry! Though still a total joke compared to bricks and mortar biz

The problem is, that you have to pay the Mastercard fee every year $500 !!!

What VISA did few years back, now MC is doing. Old news.

Hi,

If you currently have a processing history of above 100 EUR/ week on average, for a premium account as a new merchant , the 500 EUR registration with Verotel is waived for MasterCard and this includes Visa. If you process over 1000 EUR a week in this account, there is not a weekly fee. This may be a good option in case your current processor will not waive the registration fees.
