Quote:

Second line is a tradition in brass band parades in New Orleans, Louisiana. The "main line" or "first line" is the main section of the parade, or the members of the actual club with the parading permit as well as the brass band. Those who follow the band just to enjoy the music are called the "second line." The second line's style of traditional dance, in which participants walk and sometimes twirl a parasol or handkerchief in the air, is called "second lining." It has been called "the quintessential New Orleans art form ? a jazz funeral without a body."[1] Another significant difference from so called "jazz funerals" is second line parades usually lack the slow hymns and dirges played at funerals (although this is not a hard rule; some organizations may have the band play something solemn towards the start of the parade in memory of members deceased since their last parade).

New Orleans aint no joke.

Shit like this happening all the time.. I've had plenty of close encounters myself. A lot of gangs and territorial issues over there..

I remember one time I fucked up and took some Ambien after drinking over there.. and walking down the street in the "wrong direction".. everybody I passed walking the other way was like.. "You don't want to go that way.." "Hey man.. it's not safe down there".. "Why don't you join us and come this direction".. it was weird..

I woke up hours later next in an alley with a hobo poking at me.. telling me it would be smart if I went back to my hotel.. I said.. I don't know where it is.. He said he would take me.. but I told him I needed to take a shit first.. so he walked me down a few alleys to a krystals.. where I took a massive shit (was staying with a new gf at the hotel didn't want to blow it up).. then he took me back to my hotel.

I gave him $20 and thanked him.. he was a good guy in retrospect... and I never took Ambien again :)

You ever hear of the "courtesy flush"?

Man if this isn't proof of racism in America I don't know what is. I feel I must apologise for my racist white people that happened to be in the area of this shooting.

I realize this was a predominantly black parade and there were only a handful of white devils around. Yet sure enough, soon as a brother gets shot, god damn racist white people have to flock to the scene pushing all the other brothers away. Leaving the white people to hog up all the camera shots.

I know every one of those fine black men wanted to do nothing more than to assist their fallen comrade, but instead were left to just stand around like useless assholes, thanks to the selfish white devils whom obviously pushed them out of the way and wouldn't let them help.

I just wanted to say sorry to all the brothers for those intensive racist white people.

:(:(:(

Hmm, except it wasn't "2nd amend GUN FUN" because shooting people up at a parade is not what the 2nd Amendment is about... maybe you never took an American history class...

Umm yea sure there buddy.. neither is shooting up schools are any of the other thousands of deaths that come at the hands of guns every year in this country. Meanwhile anytime any tougher regulations are attempted the right wing & NRA stand in front of it using 2nd amendment as excuse.
