I really hated Windows 8 but installe dit and really happy!

In fact didn't install it, just bought a new laptop with Windows8 pre-installed

Now I can say: "see? I told you it was the most absolute crap ever made!" and I can prove it without a shadow of a doubt! :thumbsup

Guess tomorrow is "format and install Windows7+Ubuntu" day! :thumbsup

Babaganoosh 05-12-2013 08:43 PM

Wait...you hate Windows 8 but you're going to install Ubuntu? Both use the touch screen paradigm. Have a look at Linux Mint.

it's not just the touch screen thing, I like that part. Windows8 is a nightmare in any sense. I use Mint in one of my computers and like it, but I'm more used to Ubuntu so I work faster with it.

Fuck, in my main computer I still use XP and Adobe CS2! :1orglaugh

Babaganoosh 05-12-2013 08:47 PM

How retro. :D

EddyTheDog 05-12-2013 08:48 PM

I must be one of the few people that like it...

harvey 05-12-2013 08:49 PM

Also, our main coder has Windows 7 + Ubuntu + Leopard (!!!) so maybe I'll try that and see how it feels. OS Bonanza! :1orglaugh

leg4 05-12-2013 08:55 PM

I love it... and use it daily.

Just get the free 'classic shell' download and you're run.

Microsoft is fixing it soon with a new update called "Windows Blue"

Rochard 05-12-2013 09:24 PM

One of our newest laptops has 8 on it. You just have to get to the desktop and learn how to work without the start button. Otherwise it's all the same.

I spent 40 minutes to get the Spanish language keyboard work (a 30 seconds task in ay older operative system), so believe me it's WAY more complicated than that. Every fucking task has AT LEAST 1 non needed click/step so it looks as if they were saving money on UX specialists. For every task I tried to perform the computer was like "hey why don't you get a Microsoft account? You know, you'll be still unable to do shit but if you magically achieve it, we'll get all your computer info"

Come on, Windows 7 was (is) a nightmare with all that permissions shit, but at least it's well done, it's fast and actually WORKS.

No surprise Microsoft declared Windows8 is a failure... less than 6 months after they launched it! :Oh crap

i think the new update that is coming soon might make it more enjoable..they are bringing start button, in a way, back ..and some more..

venus 05-12-2013 11:14 PM

I don't have a problem with win 8, but I don't use the new start page... I installed start 8 and put the start button back where it belongs...when it boots, it boots directly to the desktop like its suppose to.

Wait just a second here.

You're gay, right? And you have a PC, not a MAC? Un-fucking believable. You're bullshitting us, right ? You are sitting behind a MAC, I can see it quite clearly.

Don't mess up my picture of you Eddy.

no issues with win8 at all ... :2 cents:

TheSquealer 05-13-2013 06:02 AM

I have never complained about any operating system from Windows that i am aware of... ever. Windows 8 is 100% pure shit. It's so poorly done and confusing that it really baffles the mind to think it was ever released.

seeandsee 05-13-2013 06:53 AM

Microsoft is trucking dick head, leave fucking start button

it took me about a day to sort it out on a new laptop, getting the metro page arranged properly and uninstalling the ms apps and getting past the signup to ms email windows.

no biggie, works just fine for me now except for the way i use the trackpad, sliding my fingers right to left slides out the charm slider, that's a bit obtrusive. they should have known that area is used a lot in surfing on a web browser.

overall it's fine and very stable now.

I don't mind it. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Installed Classic Shell in about 30 seconds and it's back to normal.

On one of those touchscreens though, I really like the Metro.

I just built a Hackintosh and actually haven't logged into OSX in days. Even Premiere is growing on me.

Supz 05-13-2013 09:21 AM

I just got a new laptop made sure it had windows 7 on it.
