How/Where is there still organic traffic for blogs?

I've had a number of blogs in the past that did pretty well in the SERPs, and I was starting to look into the possibility of building another when I noticed something...

Every. Single. Result... is a tube site. Whether I'm searching generic keywords or multi-token long tail terms, all I get in the search results are tube sites. I even include "blog" in my query and STILL... tube sites.

If the first 3 pages for almost any adult query are monopolized by the xHamsters and Redtubes of the world, then where are blog owners getting organic traffic from?

I tried running some searches in the niche I'm considering blogging about, just to see who the other bloggers are for link trades or whatever, but I can't find them because they're buried under pages of tube site results. This definitely wasn't the search landscape when I was doing my last blog, and I'm trying to figure out if it's even worth it now.

I know bloggers and organic traffic affiliates are still making money, so what is it I'm missing here?

Maybe the keywords you are searching are too competitive. Blogs can still be on page 1 for 1000 exacts a month and under. I know that because I have one. I've never tried any that are more competitive. Plus blogs still can get a shit load of long tails that I assume maybe tubes miss. Just guessing, probably wrong.

When you say you're number 1 on those keywords... How did you get there? Are you paying for keywords through AdWords or is this just from the keyword in your post? And what are you using to get that metric, google analytics? I'm sure you can tell I'm a newbie. Thanks.

I'm not number 1. I said I was on the first page. I was #1 and I return to it sometimes but I haven't updated the site in a couple months. I have an exact match domain. Back links got me to the first page. Adwords is not allowed for adult. I simply check the Serps from multiple locations to find my site is always on page 1

Tubes rank because internal links. Build a large blog with a 1000 or so posts. You should see some long tails at 100 posts and increase from there. Do your research on key words before you start posting. Also throw in some generic posts that will save you fro being over optimized. Limit affiliate links to 1 per post and only a couple out going banners
