The UK are saying if you kill a police officer you get 'real life'.....

But not others - I know the arguments that the police put their lives on the line - However, so do nurses, paramedics and anyone else on the front line...

I like the idea that life means life, but why just if you kill certain members of society.....

I know in the US you have the same thing - I just don't get it...

i like life

helterskelter808 05-14-2013 09:41 PM

What do the police get when they kill real people?

Rochard 05-14-2013 09:44 PM

I couldn't be a cop. Crappy pay, crappy hours, and people beat you daily.

I have a few friends that are cops - ironically with my history of speeding most of them seem to be highway patrol. However, they all tell me they get hit / smacked / punched / slapped / and spit on daily. Fuck that.

2013 05-14-2013 09:46 PM

crappy wife , ..........

So do others on the front line - I don't see why killing a police officer is worse than killing anyone else.....

It seems odd to me.....

helterskelter808 05-14-2013 10:31 PM

Because the police are not public servants, they are paramilitary goon squads of the State/Establishment.

As your GFY appointed Lawyer, I recommend you plead the the 5th...

As far as this thread goes though, I think its wrong to say that someone who CHOOSES to be a policeman, and as such, puts themselves in harms way, as part of the job, for a paycheck, should be valued more than an innocent person.

I'm not saying value them less - Just if a law abiding citizen, going about their day, with a wife and children, gets stabbed and killed for the £40.00 in their wallet, and a cellphone....

Why should the fact its a policeman mean that the person gets more time?

2013 05-14-2013 11:05 PM

because "police" are more powerful than a random nig just getting shot

:1orglaugh Ooh, get her! A real keyboard tough guy when he's had a few 'beers'.

I'm the only one who even bothered to answer your inane question, dipshit.

The reason why the police are treated differently is because they are an organ of the state, used to protect that state and control the people, when they are in fact, both police and Government, meant to serve the people. Sorry if you don't like that answer, but you don't seem to have a better one, do you, dear?

Why do you think you had the death penalty for betraying your country but not for betraying your best friend? Because Governments don't give a shit about anything but their own power and survival.

Did I say it was a conspiracy? Do you even know what a conspiracy is? It's simply the state acting in its own best interests to protect itself. If you have a better theory though, let's hear it.

Exactly - Why are police more important than a nurse or a shop assistant?

A dead person is a dead family member - Tell them that one is worth more than the other.......

A conspiracy theory is an explanatory proposition that accuses a person, group or organization of having caused or covered up an event or phenomenon of great social, political, or economic impact.

And where exactly in the post you quoted did I "accuse a person, group or organization of having caused or covered up an event or phenomenon of great social, political, or economic impact"?

Not sure if serious. Police is who protects you and others from criminals hence criminals get harsher punishment for killing them compared to killing shop assistant. Its not about value to family members.

But what if its an OFF DUTY Police officer? Same as an OFF DUTY nurse or OFF DUTY Shop assistant?

If he is off duty at given moment it does not change his value as the one who protects people from said criminals.

Probably, more cops get shot at, or otherwise attacked. Groups above take risks but in many places cops have targets on their backs, 24/7. Maybe Rochard can ask his friends but I have read people shooting at cops most often go for the head shot and the groin shot.

No thanks.

Probably, LE, Courts, politicians want it clear that shooting cops will not be tolerated.
I am not always a big fan of cops...but when they are overrun by gangs, what is next line of defense? Public servant wise.

the police are more important than nurses or bakers because they represent law and order...

granted some policemen are assholes....

BUT

the police stand for something...that something keeps us safe from chaos...no matter how stupid you think the police officer is, you should seek justice in the court house...he is neither judge nor jury....arguing with a police officer should be a serious offence IMO...shooting a police officer or shooting at a police officer should carry a mandatory death penalty...not because the individual police officer is "special" but because he stands for something we all want and need enforced...

society is degenerating...the poor and stupid are breeding like rabbits and laws will need to be enforced more and more

That's a valid point, but then the average law abiding citizen probably doesn't face the scum of society on a daily basis armed with just a stick.

The same goes for ambulance workers and firemen, as a rule they come to clean up the mess. They're not usually the ones who have to go in first and face the danger.

The more protected the cops. the better they will (might?) do their job, as simple as that. As for doctors, nurses, etc. at least in my country attacking a doctor or any medical personal carries tougher sentence than attacking some random dood
