I wish - Not normally into black guys but he was pretty hot...

I have his number - Perhaps I should call and tell him he left some wire here?

CamTraffic 05-24-2013 04:24 AM

What service provider did you get?
give it a shot here: http://www.speedtest.net/

Duno, I have no problems with WiFi performance. Perhaps because I have two routers connected to two different providers :)

privatesociety 05-24-2013 04:33 AM

nice one!!!

BlackCrayon 05-24-2013 04:44 AM

all you need to do is set up a password to keep neighbors out with wifi. i don't like hardwired aside from my desktop, want to be able to use where i please.

Yep, WPA2-PSK is quite enough to keep neighbors off your network.

i recently had a neighbor jump on to my router because my router admin page had no password, they got into that somehow and got my router password. they used up almost 100 gigs before i realized it. i wish i knew who it was. i don't live in an apartment so there are only a few suspects.

Mark.Roy 05-24-2013 05:18 AM

wire ftw.

CurrentlySober 05-24-2013 05:21 AM

cut or uncut?

enquiring minds wish to know... :2 cents:

I keep wifi on to check stuff on mobile, or to work on the balcony in summer.
my nearest neighbour is a cow (the animal) her hooves stop her typing.

Check your router logs. Sometimes you may recognize the rogue neighbor by his computer/phone name.

On the other hand, if he was able to access your admin control panel, he was able to crack your WiFi protection too. I mean, he must be connected to your router via WiFi to go 192.168.1.1 on it.

yeah i wasn't sure how he managed to access it. all i know is once i created a password for the router admin page and changed the password for the wifi, the usage stopped. i find it hard to believe anyone living close to me possesses the skills to break into routers, it wasn't a simple password i was using but who knows i guess.

I'd be more worried that he was accessing the dark corners of the internet if you know what I mean. Guess who the party van would pay a visit to if that was the case and it was being monitored? Let's just say it wouldn't be your neighbor...

They'll check the router logs and find out which exactly MAC addresses were active at that time. Then they will raid the neighbors if needed. That's not a rare story for 'em actually :2 cents:

Oh, I know they will. However, in the mean time it might be a giant pain in the ass, not to mention a reputation destroyer. People tend not to forget shit like that, even if it works out ion your favor.
