Paxum.com Ripoff

After being with the company for the past 3 years and having hundreds of transactions now the account is frozen, I uploaded a photo of the drivers license and now they refuse to unfreeze the funds and are now saying I need to do this..

Quote:

We have received the photo of your Drivers License, but as an additional security measure, we kindly ask you to take a photo of yourself holding the document.
This photograph must be of high quality; all the text found on the document must be clearly visible and your face in the overall picture must be recognizable. The Photo ID that you are holding must not be cropped and all it's real margins must be visible.

Upload this in Profile Settings >> Identity confirmation.
I spoke on the phone with someone for 15 minutes and as usual offshore support sucks big time.. nothing they could do..I guess I would get better and faster results by mail or faxing managers or higher-ups because through email and by calling them is completely useless..

does anyone know what to do because there is no fucking way in this world i'm going to take a picture of myself holding my drivers license for a company like this.

Socks 05-27-2013 01:10 AM

isn't your picture... on your license....

EddyTheDog 05-27-2013 01:14 AM

I have heard this before - I normally stick up for Paxum, but this ridiculous - A three year history and then this - Its too much...

LRS 05-27-2013 01:15 AM

I completely understand if this is for a country like Nigeria or maybe if this is a first time thing when you're in the signup process but after being a customer for 3 years they come out with this bullshit no freaking way..

fitzmulti 05-27-2013 01:15 AM

What the hell is the big deal?
They aren't "ripping you off"...they are trying to verify your identification, to prevent YOU FROM being ripped off...
What if someone stole your DL & was trying to steal your dough, man?
You make it sound as if they stole some shit from you, when all they want to do is verify you are you!

Lame...

just a punk 05-27-2013 01:16 AM

You will look like an XXX model on the 2257 docs. Will be "funny" if this picture will leak to the Internet...

There is no 100% secure things, because averything can be hacked. So you must be ready that every information you submit anywhere, can be compromised and become public.

Your Captain O. :pimp

LRS 05-27-2013 01:22 AM

I have been using the same computer and the same IP address location for the past 3 years how can my account or password be compromised when it shows IP History Login in their home page?

if I logged in from a computer in India or something then sure thing.. but nothing has changed..

xNetworx 05-27-2013 01:25 AM

It's to verify your identity. Duh. What's the big deal? That is hardly a rip off. Don't be a dick.

LRS 05-27-2013 01:29 AM

your Bank will only freeze your funds if they find out you have been doing something wrong or bad that you did.. but no I have been a good customer and using this account with no problems now they freeze it for no reason whatsoever.. now tell me if this is normal because it is not here in the United States..

Speak to someone higher up? Its their requirement and they are not going to bend the rules for you. Either do it or stop using them.

their rules? if this was a rule I would of not signed up in the first place.. it says

(a) Valid Passport;
(b) Valid Photo Card Driving License;
(c) National Identity Card;
(d) Valid Drivers License;

IT DOESN'T SAY A PHOTO OF YOU HOLDING YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE!

EddyTheDog 05-27-2013 01:48 AM

I have just cancelled my last Paxum payment - They are asking too much...

Its a shame because I like Ruth and the team.....

Markul 05-27-2013 01:51 AM

lol they will tell you it's for your protection, but it's for their own. They don't protect you in any way. At least I've asked in many threads and never once seen a real explanation of how exactly that is protecting you.

If they want to do a proper verification, then they'd do like paypal and go via a regular (real) bank.

AdultKing 05-27-2013 01:55 AM

A Romanian based organisation with thousands of copies of high resolution, unadulterated, unprotected, colour scans of identification of many hundreds of people. What could possibly go wrong ?

Adraco 05-27-2013 01:55 AM

I got that too one or two years ago. Not much to do but to comply if you want to continue using their service.

Add those plugrush fucktards into the list of cock suckers requesting information like this - privacy is out the window with these idiots.

LRS 05-27-2013 02:06 AM

If this was stated in their signup Policy or Terms Of Service.. or if my account was logged using a different ip addresses or if I'm getting new payments from new companies I would understand..

nothing has changed for the past 3 years and now they hammer me to the wall and freeze my funds for now reason. I cannot touch them until I upload their "requested photo".. this is completely pointless.. they can just send a PIN to my home address and I will input that pin from the website, that way home address is confirmed like Google does with Adsense.. but oh way I already activated my VISA cards so home address is already verified..

greg80 05-27-2013 02:12 AM

I guess these are the rules if you want to do banking in Romania. If you don't want to bank in Romania, don't use paxum.

just a punk 05-27-2013 02:21 AM

The funny thing is that the real scammer can easily circumvent this requirement using the id scans and image of the same adult model holding that license near his/her face. There are ton of leaked 2257 docs are floating on the Net circumvent :2 cents:

To sum it up. The mentioned measure does not protect from the scammers, but just annoys the loyal Paxum clients.

AllAboutCams 05-27-2013 02:53 AM

If they ask this from me im never using them again

RubyGoodnight 05-27-2013 03:30 AM

Was this leak/hack/page error/whatever you would call it ever actually confirmed or denied by Paxum?

bluebook18 05-27-2013 04:02 AM

I get an expiry notification on the 4th week of april on my paxum account that needs new ID to be updated. So i ask ruth about this and she said everything on how or what should i do. Ruth tells me also that they've given 6 weeks to update those expired ID's. So i rush to the government office to renew my expired ID's and after i get them i didn't upload yet in fact I've waited Ruth to go online so that she can assist me whatever needs to be. After i upload those ID's i get an confirmation of waiting 48hrs. to get verified without even asking too much like holding those documents and etc. So i get verified 2 days later i update my ID's and right now i can use my paxum account without worrying the limitation. Just contact Ruth first before updating your details and she can help you with that.

Edit:

I <3 Paxum

ls101 05-27-2013 04:04 AM

Ask Ruth she help us a lot when Indian people ask me to do that! :)

Lukke 05-27-2013 04:12 AM

I dont understand why do you have problem with photo holding your document.

suesheboy 05-27-2013 04:37 AM

Paxum needs to team up with another company(s) or bank(s) you can walk into for verification - even for a fee that the other company can keep.

I see crash and burn in the future.

woj 05-27-2013 04:37 AM

this same "problem" was brought up 100x already on here, where you living in a cave or something? :)

just send them the pic they requested and that should be the end of drama...

or switch to bitcoins, heh :thumbsup

seeandsee 05-27-2013 04:46 AM

Just send them ID, if you already scanned and send them your id, why is problem to do that holding your id?

It may be a cultural difference. Here in the US no one asks for such a thing. Especially after three years with the company. If my bank asked me for this I would drop them out of principle.

After implying that the people reporting such a thing were liars or pranksters Ruth immediately left the thread as soon as real evidence was posted. My thought is that the breach was there and they were hoping to sweep it under the rug by dismissing it publicly as the fantasy of a bunch of drunk Russians. The cover-up is worse than the breach imo because it shows how people are treated.

I'm sure one day they will. I think that's part of his issue here. He said he had an account for 3 years and now suddenly they want this.

That is why I don't do Paxum. They can suddenly come up with some arbitrary requirement before they will give me my money. It has the potential to disrupt your operations at the worst possible time and you will have no choice but to rollover for them. Next year who knows maybe they'll be asking you to write your SSN/ID # on your penis with a blue sharpie while hovering it over your passport in order to demonstrate that it isn't fake. If you don't they will hold your money for 90 days "for your protection" or something like this. :upsidedow

Were you notified of this requirement before or after your recent post about DG, LRS?

Hi LRS,

Please get in touch with me and provide me your Paxum account username and any open ticket numbers so I can look into your situation for you.

My email is [email protected]

Thanks,
Ruth :)

Which is EXACTLY what he should have done in the first place, rather than ANOTHER whiny GFY thread.
Ruth, and the others here on GFY from Paxum are here to help you guys...
And to bitch and moan, even before attempting to contact them first, is stupid.
Yes...I called you stupid.
Sue me.

I think this is a security measure to satisfy mastercard. I wouldn't take it personally. I know many people that have had to do it, it isn't really a big deal.

Sly 05-27-2013 07:10 AM

You are having a bad week.

I notice a pattern. A lot of reps and program owners are saying "What's the big deal?" with many others complaining. I guess it isn't a big deal when you have a company paying you (as an employee) to do stuff like this or when you are running tens of thousands of dollars through them every month and paying hundreds of people. You expect this. OTOH, if you're just a regular affiliate or a small program collecting a few hundred or thousand a month through Paxum it can seem a little excessive depending on what you are used to.

You can say it's whining, but look, you can only say "The customer is always wrong" so many times. Someone is here complaining about Paxum every week. It's not without reason. People don't see this as normal and they are having problems. And I wonder how many people are afraid to say anything knowing that a bunch of reps will come on and call them whiners. A good business would look objectively at the criticism when it is this frequent.
