Is it true canada?

if i put my canadian money in water it will make a batch of syrup? :helpme :1orglaugh j/k

To some, the allure of money is irresistible. But even the most frugal spender may be drawn to Canada?s new plastic bills if the rumors are true: a significant number of Canadians claim the new currency smells like maple syrup.

However, the Canadian Press went directly to the source, the Bank of Canada, which says there is no truth to the rumor.

Nonetheless, the news outlet obtained copes of requests sent in to the bank, dozens of such correspondances reportedly, demanding to know how the bank managed to add the delicious scent of syrup to the new plastic bills.

?I would like to know ? once and for all if these bills are in fact scented, as I do detect a hint of maple when smelling the bill,? reads one email.

The new plastic bills were first released back in November 2011, and the rumors began almost immediately. Canada has made headlines several times over the past two years with its ever-changing currency, first when they announced plans to pull the penny from circulation back in March 2012, and a month later, when it was announced they had released a limited edition glow-in-the dark dinosaur coin.

Yes they are/were. I believe when theyre brand new, they do, but i believe it fades or they only did that with the first batch. When i first started getting them, they were smelling up my wallet

Whole bank actually smelled the day i first got them at the teller. It was a bit annoying

We have been using plastic money for some time. Be careful with the dryer and iron.

CDSmith 05-28-2013 09:23 AM

They did it to see if anyone would notice. I guess people are out there sniffing money more than one would think.

I'm craving waffles.

It's not the money that smells like Maple Syrup, it's us. Sexual escapades of Canadians usually involve Maple Syrup, and some times back bacon, Molson Beer etc. While it washes off, it often leaves behind a delicious and alluring aroma on our junk that virtually guarantees even more sex with more partners. Who needs cologne when we smell so damn good?

While there are still some that prefer the old "Beer and cigarettes" stank of yesteryear, most have dropped it now because they say that this combo just "smells like sex and shame".
