Video from inside a tornado (vid from yesterday)

If you ever watched the show Tornado Chasers on Discovery you will remember the TIV2. Well he finally got it inside a bigger tornado. Video says it was an F3 or F4. Winds of 150 to 175mph before the instruments were ripped off.

Pretty crazy shit.

Tornados are crazy beasts, growing up in the midwest, I've been through 3 pretty wild tornados.

We used to get them from time to time in FL as well.. I had 2 close calls but both times I showed up just after it hit. One of the times a Tornado that wasn't actually on the ground went right over my apt building. (3 stories)

It ripped up part of the roof and blew out 37 windows. The pressure also cracked the ceiling in my apartment causing a big section to fall all over my living room floor. I showed up about 15 mins after it hit to a real big mess.. lol

If you notice in the vid before it gets nasty there is a house or some sort of building off to their left. I think that spark was a electrical explosion from that building.

edit.. actually after re-watching almost looked like something metal hit the front of it and made the spark.

Yeah, I know one time me and my dad were out at my grand parents farm and we were in the barn looking out side and the sky went green pretty quickly and my dad comes running in screaming at us to run to the other end of the barn... Tornado dropped down and went right over us taring a big part of the barn apart, and knocking the silo next to the barn down on top of my grandpa's truck.

Later that year another tornado tore through the farm and took down 2 of the 4 remaining silos on the farm.

Edit:

Also remember sitting out in the storm wearing rain suites watching a tornado rip through the town a mile away from us... Went and looked at the damage afterwords and it was just crazy what the tornado could do.

Being raised in Michigan, although I never saw a tornado up close, I certainly saw my share of the devastation afterwards.

We had a babysitter that had a mobile home (why do tornadoes always hit trailer parks) and it flipped her trailer upside down and set it almost exactly back on the pad it was on!

I attribute it to all the external A/C units condensed in one spot.

There's a line that appears on the glass right after the spark.

My wife had one go right over her in Miami one time.

It was building so only moved her truck about 10 inches or so to the side. Knocked down the gas station sign she was parked near and then flipped a truck. Bounced up in the air and when it touched down again it nailed the loading docks for UPS.
