I think its a piece of ice, that has been carved out by the water lapping up against it constantly.

you can also see that the picture is exaggerating the curvature, as the actual water is curved quite a bit as well.

Why is there a breakline in between the bottom and the top curved section?

Funny you mention this now. I just got an email recently containing a bunch of "amazing frozen wave and striped iceberg" pics, supposedly taken on lake Winnipeg. It didn't add up for me as I know a fair bit about that lake seeing as I'm from here and all. So I did a quick search, and sure enough the original email going around from 2008 reported those same pics as being from Lake Michigan, another falsehood.
