Google blogger site

Put up a google blog site on April 30th 2013. For some reason it's accidentally getting traffic. Page views are at 3500 today and if they keep going as they are should be up to 4000 by the end of this week. Traffic divides up at 60% Mobile and 40% PC. Vast majoritry of traffic is from google serps.

I have no clue as to how or what to monetize the site with. Two colum site with nav on the right and 15 posts on front page. Need someone to give me some ideas of what to monetize it with that actually works. Also, in posts or in side bar?

Heh, never was any good at selling anything but AVS id's. ;)

I wouldn't stick with blogger. There's really no good way to monetize it as far as I know. Plugrush no longer accepts it, and I'm sure other networks have similar policies against free hosts.

Something you may want to look into though, is if blogger tracks views, or -unique- views. When I had a blogger account I'd get thousands of views a day, but I don't think they were unique views.

I'd recommend setting up a site with a real domain and host, and then forwarding the traffic from your blogger account to it.

You can do that by putting this code in the header:
Code:

<meta content='15;url=http://www.yoursitehere.com' http-equiv='refresh'/
The number in the code is the number of seconds you want it to wait before it forwards to the other site.

After that, go with Plugrush or Juicyads.

You definitely need to figure out 1) where that traffic is coming from and 2) whether or not that is a UV or PV number. Don't change anything until you can answer those two questions. On the off chance that they are unique views from legitimate sources, you will want to make sure you are careful in redirecting or forwarding any traffic. Use 301 redirects rather than meta tags to remain seo friendly ...there are options to do that from within a blogger site.

Come back here and post if you get to that point.

Sorry, so used to adult webmasters knowing me I left out a tew detail. Heh, no reason the vast majority should know me anymore as I quit frequenting webmaster boards when I closed my askmrporn board down years ago.

Anyway, been at this since 1996 and have 40 some domains. Made tons of money sellling avs id back in the golden days. Had I know that such a simple site that violates most guru's advice would draw so many page views I'd have put it on one of my domains. OTOH probably doesn't matter where it is as I suck at selling for some reason. That's why I was asking for suggestions.

Yep, google has lousy stats for sure. Uniques are probably only about 25 to 35% of page views, if that. Actually started out as a way to get pics links to all my other domains. The page views are pure and lucky accident.

Majority of traffic is from google serps.

If you are really getting that many unique views from SERPs, I would 301 redirect your blogger site to whatever relevant site you are trying to monetize and/or promote. You don't want to be throwing away that much legitimate traffic.

While thats a great idea it totally defeats the purpose of the site being on blogger. It was put there specifically to get links to my pages from a trusted site with a different IP. Just looking for something to monetize it with that works on blogger. Seems there isn't much.

Heh, I don't even know if I can replicate the results on one of my blogs but I'm going to try it starting tomorrow.

I was playing with the idea of using imagetwist (or chilli, or what ever one you want) and displaying "free galleries" and just linking them - you get $3 per 1k ish - it's not much I know, but if you could make them rotate that might be worth something?

I was using nastydollars banners but I wasn't getting any real hits (but the blog was only getting like 2k a day so that might be the reason).

if you figure it out let me know lol I have a bunch of blogger blogs I'm just using for hard links really..

put a watermark of your money site on your images

if the surfers like the content, they will type your URL in their browser and then you can sell em anything there

I've had my sites on blogger for years, and I finally switched to Wordpress at the beginning of this year on a self host, and wow, what a difference.

If you are serious about your business you won't be on blogger. If you don't have the money today, save it so you have it next month, or do some odd jobs to buy a year's worth of hosting along with your domain name at minimum.

Adult content owners should run, not walk, from Blogger.
