Why people still pay for porn
Internet is growing. Billions are using. Most users are dumb. You are making a big mistake if you think about ordinary users as if they have the knowledge of a webmaster.
Porn sells. People are paying. Why? They are afraid of illegal stuff, they have big screens and they are looking for the best full HD quality, they want top quality niche content, updated, and they don't want to store porn on their HD (job, wife issues). Instead of focusing your mind on young tech people who are smart enough to brake the system, focus on those who are honest and "dumb". I believe we have two different kinds of people: 1 - People who "steal" using illegal tubes or torrent because they don't have any money to pay, so anyway we shouldn't see them as prospects; 2 - People who are honest and prefer to pay for stuff - which I believe is the big majority. Cool? |
3) "I don't pay for porn because i don't want to get my credit card banged and everyone is doing the same thing.... yeah, i'm honnest..."

I don't think the card banging has had anywhere near the impact some people think it did. Of course it didn't help matters, but that is like saying people eat less fast food today because they got a bad burger or two at Burger King. Bad business unfortunately happens. Pre-paid cards also solves that problem if they are worried about the card being abused. |
Well, I pay for porn. Maybe that's because I'm crazy.

Pay to watch porn ? I'll rather pay to get laid

Pay for these nuts.

Long ago I used to focus my attention on AOL search and had some really nice results with it. I loved getting good rankings there because I felt that if someone was still using AOL and AOL search they clearly didn't know much about the internet and would pay for porn.

a brazilian with decent english? I wud pay to see that

Imagine a Brazilian fluent in English? Hell, sometimes I want to practice, and I don't have a single person who I can practice. That's sad. I'm the black sheep. But I'm not as good as I will be one day. My rule is to keep studying English forever. :thumbsup |

Dont sell porn sell traffic to people wanting to sell porn
|
I think you're deluding yourself if you think the average person is willing to pay for porn. Almost everyone knows it's free. Pornhub and sites like it get mentions on mainstream TV now. On the opposite side if a TV show mentions joining a paysite you can expect a hundred comments about "Who pays for porn?" on twitter. Tumblr now seems to tell users to upload "their" porn videos on Xhamster. That porn is free is now the rule everywhere and it's the new customer expectation.

I guess if it weren't for the free stuff that is out there, I wouldn't be getting any hits. |
The supposed decline and imminent "death" of the pay for porn model is wildly exaggerated mainly only here on GFY... My theory:
GFY Aff guys were making big easy money pushing to horrible members areas and outright surfer scams... Now that users are more savvy, credit cards got crunched, and people want better porn - well many of you guys got your clocks cleaned. BUT I see sales as doing GREAT for those of us that have content and girls that people actually WANT - not shit they are tricked into joining. All you guys who complain about piracy and tubes wiping out the biz are just plain wrong - you werent selling shit people actually wanted, thats why your biz is suffering. |

I've seen many affiliates say the same thing. Then months later they are asking for loans, talking about getting a job somewhere and about how they were always part time or I find out elsewhere in their own words that they were lying and they make 1/5th of what they claim. It seems like there are so many people here just blowing smoke up each other's ass. It's definitely better for the paysite operator than the affiliate though. Provided you are willing to let millions view your content just to make a couple sales. I'm not sure how viable that model is in the long term. It'll be interesting. |

I see stats that totally lay waste to the idea that people dont want to pay for porn. Its selling nicely when you have SHIT PEOPLE WANT. |
Here it is and you guys with far lower sales than in those past gravy years need to grasp this:
You were making great easy money because you were in on a BUBBLE. This biz NOW is REALITY. The bubble was just there because internet porn was NEW - surfers were DUMB - and you sold them BAD SITES (by todays standards) The bubble burst for many various factors...credit cards got harder to get, tastes became more niche specific and sites became aggregators - thus a few became great and the many became shit in comparison. YES there is some cross over percentage guys who may pay but opt for piracy instead - or may have paid but are happy with free tubes... but its my opinion that the percentage is very small and not nearly the colossal effect that hurting GFY webmasters whine about. |

I missed the connection you seemed to have drawn in your post. I don't see how producing high quality, highly desirable content is going to stop pirates from putting it out for free and cutting into the bottom line. Seems like "great content" would be the most desired to steal and show for free. Nobody I ever heard of stopped shoplifting of beer by stocking higher quality beer. Maybe porn is different though. :1orglaugh |

To me "Selling what people want" means giving a package that, when opened, is satisfying to the buyer. Could be high end x-art shit or a bunch of self shot cell phone porn...but the member is happy he joined. THAT is sorely lacking in a huge percentage of the members sections that GFY Affs are pushing. Also x sales and all the card banging... Its not just "Selling what people want" - its "Giving people an experience they want" If users leave unhappy they arent likely to break out that card for another site soon. I know piracy cuts into profits, I'm not claiming it doesnt. I spend time every day sending take-downs. I'm just saying that its hurting the biz far FAR less than many GFYers complain about. |
everyone thinks that 'you pay for what you get'?
