Let's try motivate each other to exercise more!

Thought it might be a good idea to create a thread to list what you have done for your body lately.

Perhaps we can motive each other. What do you think?

Just add 3 sessions a week of sprints to whatever workout you do currently. Keep it to 10 minutes and full intensity. You have to be huffing an puffing by the end of the workout.

That type of exercise ensure you burn calories when you're not working out also.

I hate running, unless being chased, but i may try 10 min swim sprints

pornguy 06-05-2013 07:14 AM

I walk 4Km 6 days a week. ( except rain ) then hit the gym for 1 hour.

I have lost 38 pounds and have gained a lot of muscle.

Makes me feel better and want to fuck more. :)

Manfap 06-05-2013 07:14 AM

walking/hiking, in total around 30miles a week, most of it up/down hill.

Good idea, the high intesity sprints will make your body burn more claories even when you're not excercising

EddyTheDog 06-05-2013 07:17 AM

I just called a taxi - That's one more thing than I did yesterday...

Phoenix 06-05-2013 07:24 AM

The last month or so now i have been running for about 30-35 minutes. Then doing some strength/cardio exercises following along with some videos on a site.

MaxCandy 06-05-2013 07:29 AM

Try to log what you did today!!! That way we can motivate each other.

Me nothing yet.

CDSmith 06-05-2013 08:35 AM

I've been in too much back pain over the past 3+ years to exercise much, but I've still managed to lose about 17 lbs in the past half year just by adjusting the way I eat. I still eat a good breakfast, either a blend of whole grain cereals (some with almond slices) and 1% milk with a sprinkle of berry extract powder on top instead of sugar, OR a few times a week I indulge in a full-on eggs, sausages or bacon, hash browns, rye or wheat toast and coffee.

The rest of the day is broken up into 2-3 smaller meals, usually consisting of grapefruit slices, raw carrots, yogurt with some type of whole grain mixed in, a lean meat sandwich with lots of lettuce, etc. Peanut butter several times a week as well.

For dinner it's anything goes really, but I always include a good-sized side of lightly cooked veggies.

No more pigging out at night either. Lots of water throughout the evening. Sometimes a cup of decaf green tea. Then nothing until breakfast.

I just started getting cortisone injections in the lower back, and it's got me thinking I may be able to start some exercising again. The nice weather has me pining for my mountain bike, but will have to see on that. I see the specialist next week.

Choopa_Pardo 06-05-2013 08:37 AM

Yesterday I ate an entire box of Cheez-Its and then cried myself to sleep softly, clutching the box in bed.

Lifting a few light weights while I'm working and I'll take off for a mountain bike rider later today. Weather is fucking sweet right now.

that a good idea, was thinking about getting wrist weights

Rochard 06-05-2013 09:18 AM

After Phoenix Forum I decided to go on a massive diet. I started eating less, eating healthier, and working out more. I was riding my bike nearly every day but it was a big clunky mountain bike and I wasn't having much fun with it. Turns what I needed was a real bike, not a $100 toy from Target. Under the "expert tutelage" of a biking friend (no names mentioned but feel free to reveal yourself here!) I got a real bike and ever since I've been biking daily. I do six miles every morning, and I try to do six miles every night.

http://content.screencast.com/users/...06-05_0918.png

So far I've lost about 15 pounds.

Calves...you're either born with good ones, or they suck. My father in law is mostly out of shape and barely works out (especially not focused calf-work), but he has muscular, diamond shaped calves that I can never have.

I hate long distance jogging. Even though the short sprint session brings me to my knees, I'd still rather do that than a boring, long run.

Also, the 10 minutes of sprinting at full intensity will be more effective than a moderate intensity hour long jog.

I just started Shaun T's Rockin' Body dance-cardio program. I'm on day 3/24 currently. Once I complete it I'm moving up to either Shaun T's Insanity or perhaps P90X.

Anyone have experience with Insanity or P90X? Thoughts?

I do keto and walk about 3ish miles a day.. Lost 20 pounds in the last month.

Scott McD 06-05-2013 10:13 AM

overload like anything else right? I used to do a few different angles of foot placements which helped get both sides more evenly. I'm more built for speed these days though heh

the trick is to eat ice cream in between meals and dessert... ;)

Haha I wish it was that easy. It seems to be more genetic than anything else. hitting them 2x a week with various rep ranges, movements, foot placement and weight. While they do get more defined, they certainly are taking their sweet time to grow!

Wrist weights sound like a good idea too. I'm using 8 pound plastic coated girly weights - which is good because you don't have to worry about banging up the floor. I have some real weights too, but these are great just to keep your blood moving a bit while working.

If you tried to match how much a fatty shovels into their gob between meals you would balloon up in no time.

I'm a "fatty" and Scott probably eats more in a single day than I eat in 2. :2 cents:

Spunky 06-05-2013 12:40 PM

On the recumbent bike for an hour each day ,that's the extent of my exercise program

2MuchMark 06-05-2013 03:00 PM

Just bought myself one of these

http://www.nike.com/content/dam/one-...mg/540x450.png

and I'm already jogging every day. Love it!

nexcom28 06-05-2013 03:31 PM

I went to the docs yeasterday and he told be my achilles tendon was bad.
Advised me to do simple exercises 3 times a day.

Lean against a wall, keep both feet flat on the floor and keep one leg straight and the other bent for 30s, repeat opposite leg 30s then bend both legs 5s.

I did 3 workouts yesterday, today none

TheeRoly 06-05-2013 03:53 PM

I'm 4 weeks into p90x and have never felt better. Usually the next day after a cardio workout, I've noticed I wake up happier and just overall feeling better.

No huge results yet but I feel like I'm losing a little bit of belly fat so far and starting to notice small muscle changes. Can't wait to finish the 90 days and do it all over again and look awesome!

Highly recommended to anyone on GFY due to how easy it is to get going on this at home every night.

dillfly2000 06-05-2013 03:54 PM

My muscles are too big to work out.

I am down 20+kg (40+lbs) since October last year. Started off with P90X and moved onto Insanity now and next is Tapout XT.

Mix in a bunch of walking / surfing with that over summer too, now that it is getting cold, no more swimming for a few months!

MaxCandy 06-05-2013 04:55 PM

i confess no swim today, fuck me
