I'd say 35% of my trades are in error now

baryl 06-07-2013 05:11 PM

I quit using Linkspun altogether a long time ago.

Too bad, it's a nice idea but way too much garbage.

The design and programming is flawless IMO. Yes, there are a lot of garbage trades in there tho

Love the site, hate the garbage. I threw in the towel a few months back because it just became way too time consuming. But, for a free program, who am I to complain?

Relentless 06-07-2013 05:45 PM

It was great until jdoughs vanished

iSpyCams 06-07-2013 05:52 PM

yeah I had to ditch all my trades. Not worth the time too much garbage for sure.

dehash 06-07-2013 07:08 PM

Did anybody ever got good result without link trading?

Marquis85 06-07-2013 08:17 PM

Yeah there are a lot of freeloading webmasters there who cannot read and are always sending me bullshit requests. most of the time linkspun is a waste of my time but sometimes I do get a perfect setup there and great traffic from it. I just stopped checking my requests daily because most of the time I'd be denying trades.

Google Expert 06-07-2013 08:25 PM

jdoughs hasn't been heard from for 2 years

someone should code a similar service.

tonyparra 06-08-2013 06:07 AM

The problem isnt linkspun, its the quality of the webmasters that are the MAJORITY of affiliates now. Very few understand seo, that why there are so many copy cat tubes, so many guys not even making $1 a day from there sites and why so many go broke so fast. Unless you have a huge network of site you need to trade and trade well because otherwise google will can your sites for shit looking trades.

How is that the sites fault? There is someone there handling all the administrative duties.

Same here, a lot of trash requests :(

I wasted too much of my time looking at requests, screening shitty template-blogs stuffed with sponsored RSS content, I wish there was a limited amount of requests this guys could do per day, I am going to go ahead and remove all the links, waste of Time.

Too bad really, the idea was great, I would have paid a monthly fee for service if the quality was there.

Maybe one day, some one will create a similar site with better quality users :winkwink:

Yup - nicely implemented site, everything worked as it should. But yeah, 99.9% retards who can't read 1-sentence instructions or even curb their spamming impulses among other webmasters.

I wonder how you'd cut down on some of the dead-weight there... a paywall would prolly lower the member base too far... maybe a basic IQ test.

link trading isn't worth what it use to be worth I think that is more of the problem

Links are still the cornerstone of Google's algorithm.

I don't care what Matt Cutts tells you.

:2 cents:

Bounce rate is factored higher in the algo than backlinks I think. I put up a tube on March 21, 2013 on Smutnode and kinda forgot it was there while I was loading other tubes on my own hosting using the Nubiles script. The tube had only one backlink - PR0. The domain is only 9 months old.

Thought I'd check the stats and I almost shit myself. Tube had ramped up to x,xxx views a day when I reviewed traffic stats and I was and still am #1 in google for the EMD beating out Pornhub, xnxx, xvideos for the search term. I am #3 and #7 for other KW variations on the 3 word domain name. I just moved it to my own hosting this week and am dripfeeding it backlinks from my own network. This isn't a Smutnode testimonial. I don't have any other tubes there. I was testing their service.

geirlur 06-08-2013 03:20 PM

Yes, I'm planning to delete all of my linkspun trades.. about 550 to go ;)
My rankings can't get any worse so it's worth a shot. I tried to go though all trades and only remove the shittiest but that didn't seem to help so I'll just pull the plug on all this time

signupdamnit 06-08-2013 03:27 PM

Some kind of automatic rep system would help. Each time someone proposes a trade and it gets declined knock off some rep. After you get below zero then no more trades for some time until it resets and let people specify a minimum rep to receive a trade request. Something has to be done to prevent people from proposing hundreds of unrealistic bullshit trades.
