I always said that if I die after my mom, I'm gonna have Ozzy Osbourne "Mama I'm Coming Home" played at my funeral. If I die before her? Well, no idea.

The last viewing I attended was for a friend of mine. There were some nice words said, and the typical, "sorry for your loss," statements given to the family. Then, everyone gathered outside and started bullshitting as if it was a high school reunion. People were laughing, making plans to get together, and it all just seemed disrespectful. Maybe it's just human nature, or unique to that viewing, but it made me think about what I wanted to do upon death and that a viewing/funeral certainly wasn't it.

What I'd truly like to do, if the circumstances allowed, is wander off into the woods, sit down and lean my back against a tree, and pass on. Let the animals and insects nourish themselves on my body so that I can provide life in my death. It makes me believe I'll remain apart of this world.

Being locked in an air tight casket and providing nothing but a place for people to come and mourn doesn't sound appealing to me.

*Edit* I'll have the sounds of nature played at my funeral :)

My father died when I was a baby, and his grave was a horrible place for me. It was local to my grandmother's house and I spent my summers there; I would walk there with my boom box and spend hours trying to figure out life while looking at his grave.

Pass. I've instructed my wife that I want to be cremated and buried at sea off of Waikiki Beach....

My Nan always used to listen to an italian sort of like marching band old tape that she had, so we played that at her funeral.

The Italian side of the family looked up in horror as the Italian Fascist anthem was played as her coffin was carried in..

She wasnt a fascist, she moved to London when she was 5 and could remember the tune.

I want Wild Horses played; preferably by a mariachi band. Yes, I am serious. Been looking for one that can play it.

When I go my ashes get spread, along with my dogs, on a favorite small lake and my will provides the executor money for a blow-out at a local bar. I want people laughing, telling stories, going home with good not sad memories.

As far as songs, old rock with "Man in the box" played at least 2-3 times.

Agreed. I hate funerals so I have requested not to have one. Cremate me and spread me in the desert or the mountains, depending if I'm in WA or AZ when it happens.
