Does Snowden seem Lee Harvey Oswald-ish?
The more I read about Snowden (as currently reported), the more he seems Lee Harvey Oswald-ish. Standoffish with the neighbors, unremarkable in many way, ex-cia but not a standout, ex-military for a short time and while he takes issue with this country he seeks asylum in a country with a more questionable track record.
I am not sure how I feel about what he did yet to be honest, however it will be interesting to see how this plays out and what turns out to be true or not. |
This article says it all...

he will be dead before he hits a courtroom boys.

here are 2 good articles that shed some light on the sort of type working for these top secret private intelligence agencies contracted by the us government
http://www.salon.com/2013/06/10/digi...personal_data/ http://blogs.wsj.com/corporate-intel...ret-workforce/ he seems like the typical employee there. |
My first instinct is that their is no way to record all of that info
they would have the recordings from the boston bombing suspects then...:2 cents: |
chinas probably one of the safest places for him to be no?

isn't the wikileaks whistle blower being tried as of recently? irony.
|
did they kill assange? no? why? Oh right, he's a public figure and it would only make them look bad.. Same reason they don't go after that conpiracy clown in texas..
if there's nothing to be gained and everyone expects it they don't do it. You guys watch far too many movies... |

china is watching this, there is still bad feeling between the two. you have two countries now, superpowers, and a man in the middle who is clearly out for himself. now it is over to the media how much they think it is appropriate to sensationalise this story and make money. nowadays i look at headlines though and i ask myself how much of it is just spin. i think it could also be safe to say that while i presume this is true, it could be just as i said, spin. :Oh crap |
I watched the video on the article I posted above... He said that "anyone with his level of clearance can tap any phone or any email". Yeah, but to do so without a court order or a warrant is completely illegal.

He was sworn to protect government secrets and he broke the oath. You don't get to be a crusader because you disagree with the politics. There has to be some kind of mental disorder for this type of character.

another reason for shutting the program down! |
damned if you do damned if you don't.
everybody cries about government spending - now people want them to do all their high tech spy research and development in house? |
|
I think he did the right thing, no goverment should spy on its residents!
|
the murder thingy - where JFK's head exploded - kinda puts oswald in a different class then snowden.
books that detail oswald show we was a loony tunes on par with school shooters. snowden's spin sounds more sensible & perhaps patriotic, depending on your perspective. |
Rank and file CIA people tend not to be the most socially interconnected sorts...
