Buying likes and such? Worth it? Id rather buy shares

I am over at fiverr....checking out gigs...are any of these get 250-1000 likes for $5 even worth the five bucks? I assume at least half of them are not real.

Shares would be valuable though.

you want relevency

no point someone liking your page about dogs if they dont like dogs.

plus like u say, the likes are probably bots.

Why would half be real? None of them are real.

heard stories of all the likes being removed, when facebook finds the accounts

If you are already an established site it looks good to have.. 5000 likes (to the visitors). Makes you look popular.

Other than that, no.

I've never bought facebook likes but what i have bought are youtube views and youtube comments/thumbs up's and different social signal related gigs to kickstart a youtube video

you would be shocked how easy it is to rank in youtube and google with a youtube video with the right social singals posted towards it ;)

I believe the only valid reason for buying FB likes or Twitter followers is credibility for a new page or twitter account. It's been my experience that both Facebook and Twitter users are more likely to like and follow when there are a large group of people who have done so before them. With time, the likes and followers disappear, but hopefully by that period, you have real likes and followers because of the initial, fake, boost to your numbers.

I couldn't find anyone in fiverr who did this kind of task with "adult".
Whats the name of the company? I'm also interested.

You mean if you are NOT already an established website it could be good to have fake likes to show the visitors.

The best way was to have a lightbox popup on the site that won't disappear until the surfer clicked like.

But there was a company doing this and was sued by FB for $20mil.....

I've bought many of those facebook gigs from fiverr. Dont do it. Honestly, it's not worth it, you get likes but they are very obviously fake accounts from people in India and the like. You won't get shares from it. Facebook marketing is very tricky.

Nicky 06-12-2013 06:35 AM

Best way is to throw some contests and give aways that require a like and a share to participate

HomerSimpson 06-12-2013 09:10 AM

99% of fiverr social marketing is crap...
