Police bust into house over uncut grass

And they have the wrong person and the wrong house.....

Colmike9 06-11-2013 05:50 PM

In the ghettos around here, they just put up a notice to mow the lawn and usually if it isn't done, a neighbor is paid to do it..

SuckOnThis 06-11-2013 05:52 PM

Turtle Creek, PA ?A Turtle Creek woman recorded police, when they came to her door, demanded she show identification then followed her inside.

"I didn't want to tell them anything," Robyn Ruckman said.

Police from Turtle Creek, The Housing Authority and East Pittsburgh showed up at Ruckman's door, looking for her landlord. They had a warrant for Roben Edwards for Failure to Maintain property.

Ruckman recorded the officers as they told her to get her ID. She can be seen closing the door and asking the officers if they can wait outside. On the video, you hear one officer respond "No, I can't wait here because I think you're trying to avoid us." The officer goes on to say they are serving a warrant and have a right to be there.

East Pittsburgh Police Chief Lori Payne said officers never allow someone to go back inside alone.

"Shame on us if they come back with a shotgun," Payne said.

Duquesne Law Professer Wesley Oliver said "They could have defused the level of animosity in the situation had they been a little more polite. Officers can be very authoritative, while being polite. The two are not inconsistent"

The warrant for Ruckman's landlord was served during a 12 hour roundup in Turtle Creek and surrounding communities. District Justice Scott Schricker said the round up helped them clear more than one hundred warrants.

After Ruckmans encounter with police, Schricker said Edwards scheduled a hearing for charges involving her uncut grass.

Then everybody would not do that and make a deal with the neighbor (split the cash).

People do that kind of thing all the time. The ghetto is where I get half price groceries, but apparently that's illegal.. :(

Crazy Shit

blackmonsters 06-11-2013 07:50 PM

I guess you better have your ID before you go to the door because they won't let you go back in alone to get it.

Makes sense if they are actually talking to the suspect; don't want the suspect to go back in and get a gun.

Screw that, 4 police just barged into her house. The police officer was swearing and threatening - that is really scary to see.

Imagine how frequently this happens, jumped up low iq idiots on a power trip.

Probably happens a lot that they knock on a door, but coming inside is way less often than knocking.

Cops have come to my door, but I was always in a studio apartment when they came
by so if I had to get something they would see me do it if the door is open.
So I wouldn't have closed the door like she did, that's probably what "set them off".

I'm pretty sure closing the door did it, once that happened the cops are only thinking "is she going to run out the back or get a gun?".

I just watched it again and it's the closing of the door that sets things in motion.

Cop : "Leave the door open". (pushes door open)

Female : "Excuse me?" (stops door from opening all the way)

There was the fuck up!

Cop : "Leave the door open and get your ID". (pushed door all the way open)

Female : "I don't even see a name tag" (did not go to get ID)

That did it.

I'm not debating right or wrong in this post; but this is the "why".

I say leave the door open if you are in this situation and get the ID to avoid having to debate who is right or wrong.

I understand that, however the way in which they spoke to her and her them - not exactly very professional.

Perhaps it is a rough neighbourhood and the cops are simply conditioned to be assholes.

No excuse for 4 cops to rumamge through her house when they knew it was the wrong person and if you read more, it appears they did not have a warrant either (according to the chic who was the victim here).

This is fucking stupid. "Police bust into house". They didn't bust into anything, they knocked. They had a warrant. The police officer says "We are here to serve an arrest warrant". Seems he's holding it in his hand.

Common. Fucking. Sense.

Major (Tom) 06-11-2013 09:03 PM

Best thing to do anytime a cop is at your door is go through the back & walk around front.

did you see the clear violation??? their suppose to hand you the warrant before they enter. i didnt see probable cause to enter without giving her a copy of the warrant. hopefully she gets a lawyer.

I just didn't think I needed to spell it out since the only reason the cops asked for ID was
they didn't know if she was the suspect or not.

The warrant wasnt for her, it was for her landlord who doesnt live there and it was for not cutting the grass. You think that its ok for cops to come into peoples houses like that? You don't think people have a right to videotape something in their own house? Christ no wonder the police state is upon us when people think shit like this is ok.

What difference does it make what crime it was for? There was an arrest warrant . . . her first name sure sounds a lot like the name of the person they were looking for, and she was at the right address.

The fact that this had gone to warrant tells any LOGICAL PERSON that this wasn't just a matter of her not mowing the lawn. :2 cents:

Creatine 06-11-2013 09:23 PM

To be honest uncut grass isn't really a bad reason to investigate a home.

Uncut grass is a sign of dead home owners.

TCLGirls 06-11-2013 09:30 PM

If that was truly a warrant, those cops would not even wait one minute to break that door down. Real warrant searches go like this:

1. Knock knock "this is the police, we got a warrant, open the door!"
2. Under 5 seconds later, boom bust down the door.

Cops never ever wait around for the person inside to actually get up and open the door, unless for some reason the door is too heavy to break down at the moment.

Yeah, but phoning the neighbors to ask if they saw the home owner yesterday pretty much does the job.

Ask 99% of the cops out there this same question...you'll likely get a blank stare...if not a beat down by some roided up cop.

I hate people like this who provoke the police and then bitch about it. The officer told her to lave the fucking door open and he had a full right to do this. Go get your fucking ID and then bitch about your rights. If the bitch wanted to settle this peacefully, she could have done it. There is nothing wrong with inviting the police in your house or at least try to be polite about it. She first delayed opening the door, then she was uncooperative, then she flat out provoked them ever step of the way with her drug addict "rights"...

Jews willingly got on trains to be taken to camps and stood in line orderly and waiting to be shot dead while gunman reloaded their guns. That defies all logic, but they did it.

Point is, most people are obedient and never question authority in any manner. Many people stick up for those who abuse their power, making excuses for their behavior. Many more even stick up for those who abuse them directly, clearly having Stockholm Syndrome. People are crazy. It's always a hoot to watch people try to defend abusive power.

BINGO!!!

:thumbsup:thumbsup

...and as every year the abuses get worse and worse, people will keep on defending them, until it is too late. Once the power level gets too high, then all you need is an administration to be voted in that changes policy, and POOF, you have a total police state and there will be nothing that people can do about it at that point..:(

exactly mate. it's no surprise adult webmasters (as well as obviously many others, though keeping to the evidence on this board) get continually fucked and still come back for more, when this is the mentality of so many.

When you allow prisons to be run by private industry for profit. And then the state makes a guarantee to the prisons that they will be X% full, do you expect anything less?

Please show me in the Constitution where the government has this 'right'. Rights are to protect people against govt abuse, NOT the other way around. Ever heard of the 4th Amendment?

It is not against the law to not open the door for the police or to be uncooperative. What country do you live in? China?

Ya, around here police are never involved in something like that. If you refuse to comply, the municipality just hires someone to do it and adds the cost of the job to the person's property taxes.

They treated her like shit and used profanity, sure.
But that doesn't change the fact that they didn't start acting like shit until she closed the
door in their face. Just understand that closing the door was fucking stupid.

But not stupid enough, because when the cop pushed it open again she stopped the door and said "Excuse me??!!"
But not stupid enough yet because the cop then says "leave the door open and go get your ID NOW!" and
she stands there and says "You know, I don't even see a name tag".

The cop then says "I don't give shit what you see, go get your ID".

:1orglaugh
:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

She and the cops say a few more words, then another cops says :

"Listen, I'm going to hook you up in about 30 seconds if you don't get it".

Now if you counted, they asked her 3 times to GO get her ID. Keyword "GO"!

That's 3 times after she closed the door on them.

The cops would not have come inside the house if she had opened the door back up and just went to get her ID.

Now go forward in the video to 2:02 thru 2:12.

Instead of getting her ID she is asking the cop why he is searching her place.

Cop : Just give us your ID....
She : EXCUSE ME??!
Cop : where is your ID?

Damn! Deezze C0ps is haavin a hello time gittin dat eye D.

A decent cop would become extremely suspicious at this point bro.

Now lets get real :

The cops did not lay a finger on her and they did their job correctly; yet people are going to complain that they sucked.

But then you go in another thread and the cops rip out a females hair and part of her scalp,
slam her face on a counter breaking her teeth out then drag her by one leg on the ground
as if she was a carcass and people are defending that.
And that happened after her right to make a phone call was cut off.

That's real fucked up.

.
