Service that answers phone calls?
 

I have a friend that runs a tree trimming company, it's a father and son set up. Most of the time, both the father and son are busy doing a job and cannot answer the telephone when it rings so callers get sent to voicemail. They would like a service that could answer the phone and take down basic details from the caller about their needs, this way the caller feels like they have been serviced.

I don't think Grasshopper or Hosted Numbers offer such a service. Any recommendations?

Thanks, I was trying to think of what to search for. Personal recommendations would be great though, I would hate to refer a bad company.

Try to google answering service. That should give you good results. I can't recommend one as I've never used one. But doctor offices use them around here. Maybe ask your doctor :winkwink:

There are call centers and answering services that do that. Be sure to call them; 95% I tried did not even answer their own phones.

Yellowpages.com almost every city of any size has answering services. Usually it's a flat fee + a charge for each call over a set number. They all answer 24x7x365

Would phone sex workers do it? Might make you some extra scratch on the side as well.

I used one a little while back but I can't remember the name. Most will cost you about $100 or so a month just for the basic plan.

A friend of mine uses one extensively for his business and works pretty great. I call and have to say "I'm returning a call for Anthony" otherwise she just takes a message.
