Christmas in June

I feel like a kid waiting for the UPS delivery guy that will be here tomorrow. I hope it is early in the day and not late in the afternoon.

Markul 06-14-2013 12:14 AM

What's he bringing?

Antonio 06-14-2013 03:11 AM

Yup, the new iRabbit vibrators are great ... or so I've heard

Nah, this beer is far too good to waste by binge drinking; some of it will probably be around for months, if not years.

You have way more self control than me - I tried collecting wine once - That was an expensive disaster...

Luckily we do a lot of juicing, so I have room in the fridge to designate for good beer. I may have to discontinue my wine club membership because I am running out of places to put it.

Well, 31 of 32 bottles made it safely . . . I guess that is pretty decent odds.

looks serious

I have tried and tried, but I just can't enjoy beer.

Even the stuff people say is the best ever tastes like absolute shit to me.

I finally gave up.

baddog 06-15-2013 08:41 AM

So I opened up a Gumballhead because that was the first Three Floyds I had ever had. I started thinking about it and decided to go to my blog because I knew I had taken a pic of it.

http://www.gotbaddog.com/wp-content/...ikks_10257.jpg

Then I remembered that earlier in the day I had gone to the old courthouse to take some pics for Flag Day; and yesterday was Flag Day!

So it turned out that it was two years ago to the day that I had had my first Three Floyds, and now I have a bunch in my fridge. Yeah, I am a beer geek I guess.

I am in the process of writing a book on craft beer for the beginner and includes how to taste beer. To say you don't like beer is the equivalent of saying you don't like any color. There are far too many flavors out there. That is why I always order flights and I always order something I have never had . . . when possible (hard to find sometimes).

Some immediate factors would be are you drinking it from the bottle or tap? What state do you live in?

I would love to read that. Trust me though, I've tried. I hardly ever finish the glass.

Maybe there's something wrong with my taste buds.

That is why you should get flights if possible, 3-4 ozs, to be tasted in a specific order

Everyone has different tastes, and what I might like you (and goodgirl) might hate. Things you like may be barely tolerable to me. I was talking to this girl online that said she finally found a beer she liked. When I prodded her with questions I discovered she was drinking a sour. Sours are usually only appreciated by refined palates in my book; I am still trying to learn to like them. There are few I would ever consider ordering a full pour of.

The reason I asked what state you live in is because I might be able to recommend some good places to start.

brassmonkey 06-15-2013 10:46 AM

do you have a blog of all the places you go and the stuff you get? your photos are always good :2 cents:

Thanks. gotbaddog.com has most of my travel from the last 3 1/2 years when I changed its format. While I visited microbreweries around the country and photographed them, craft beer was not really as big a thing around here yet (or I was gone too much to notice). I just did it because I liked do it.

Over the past 18 months I have been concentrating on promoting local businesses and events but could not help but notice it had an extremely heavy beer influence, so I scored CraftBeerGuy.com a month or so ago and decided that all my beer stuff will go there. I have a section for local craft brewers and one for domestic/International craft brewers (I have some work to do on that still).
