Yeah, old.

My vote is for the old.

They both look simple and clean. Old has just a tad more variety, which in your case, makes it better.
Dumb down sites is for the sites with a lot of 2005ish graphics which your site does not have.

I think you have to see to do something for your logo. logo is important and this one in your design seems very thirsty and not too adequacy with new design

Out of those two, the old one's better.
