Fappin to Real 3D

I want to open up the debate about the state and future of the Real 3D porn market.

Real 3D is gaining momentum as TV and computer manufactures produce and sell more devices and Hollywood and the gaming industry release more titles.

I want to hear your opinions about Real 3D porn, not toons or old skool Red/Cyan but the new technology.

_Richard_ 06-19-2013 04:05 PM

we have people signing up to free3dpassport.com thinking it's real 3D porn

the entire tour is 3D Toons.

id say that's a good answer to the state of that market

Doesn't surprise me, people are hungry for content to try on their 3D ready device. Real 3D content is scarce, if a guy spends 1-10k on a 3D tV he wants to use it. Check out this 90" beauty 3D ready

If a guy spends the money on the hardware he will shell out a lot to get content. People google 3D porn when they should google Real 3D porn.

There is a genre naming issue with the 3d Toons and Real 3D that the public is and will continue to struggle with. With Hollywood coining Real 3D the adult industry is using Real 3D Porn as the genre.

As Real 3D grows I'm sure the 3D toons will have to start making it clear that they are 2D images not for Real 3D hardware or endure complaints and chargebacks. The artists creating the toons will start creating Real 3D Toons it only makes sense, more confusion for the consumer though!

For pure 3D'ness, gay content would probably sell better than straight content. Think about it.

purecane 06-19-2013 07:34 PM

Not all toons are 2D... Our artists render in 3D, so that's what we call it. I understand that the images don't pop off the screen like your "real" 3D but never the less it is not wrong to call our product "3D"....and btw, I agree that as technology advances and Hollywood produces more movies the genre will continue to grow.

No offense meant and non taken, sir.

:thumbsupThanks for posting, I want to get this kind of discussion going. Yes you are right. There is the difference between 3D rendering and 2D and Real 3D. Even I am getting confused! lol

There are many misconceptions about how Real 3D works. There are two separate left and right images created from two separate camera angles. The hardware set up is alternating left and right around 240Hz tricking the brain and producing depth. Really a unique technology!

Problem is that these two genres are getting the public mixed up.

We need a porn genre dictionary lol does one exist? How about these:

3D Porn/Toons - 3d rendered images/video, viewable on any 2d device

Real 3D Porn - Left and right view real images/video for Real 3D ready devices

Real 3D Porn/Toon Porn - 3d rendered images/video with left and right views for Real 3D ready devices

Confused yet? Correct these if I'm wrong:)

Uh, just read a WSJ article that said 3d was yet again a disappointment, failing to prop up the tv manufacturers like they'd hoped and 3d theatres aren't being built as fast as before. I figured the 3d market wouldn't take off like promised yet again, the technology just isn't to the point where people care and I doubt until we get holograms or something similar people aren't that impressed by 3D.

paffie 06-19-2013 10:01 PM

It's just another niche... One that i know a great deal about...
About 18 of my 20 sites are real 3D blogs. If you're interested, i can give you sales ratios from the last two years?

I do know my ratio's are just the same as when i was promoting 2D porn, so there is nothing extraordinary about it...

Great point Paffie:thumbsup, now the question is why are so few webmasters willing to get into the REAL 3D niche?

This is the newest niche and it is converting like 2d so why not try it? We made our site and promo tools in 2d and you can down load real 3d trailers to try on your 3D ready device. There are no wacky red/cyan images only quality exclusive HD content. All our content works in 2D also, so its the same as any hardcore site just users have the option to GO DEEP!

These link to some of the FHGs so please everyone check out this content and if you promote hardcore try it out!

OK let the debate carry on enough of my shameless plug...

paffie 06-19-2013 11:36 PM

I think the main problem is that current 3D sponsors do not stick with their site long enough to start making a living... I know that Danny started a couple months ago, and his conversion ratios are a little better compared to a couple of his competitors... I also see there are a lot of unpublished shoots in his portfolio (it gives me piece of mind).

In the last 2 to 3 years, i've seen over 10 3D sites that just stopped updating after they shot 20-30 videos, or that update 2 or 3 times a year... It's a real bummer if you've built a lot of traffic for those sites, and they just give up...

Pornwolf 06-20-2013 12:04 AM

3D missed it's shot. The set manufacturers did all the promotion they could to make the sets popular, but this time it was the adult biz that dropped the ball. Not enough porn was shot and promoted for DVD.

We all know, no new video technology becomes popular without porn driving it. Well, it just didn't happen this time. The public has now moved on.

Danny Deepwood 06-20-2013 12:45 AM

We are in it for the long haul. We will keep updating and pushing our brands and creating new ones too.

I was at the NAB show in Vegas in April where I met with many mainstream 3D people. I even had one come to a shoot with a really high end 3d rig to give us some pointers. The truth about what has happened to the Real 3D market has everything to do with cable companies, band width and lack of content. Also the technology is just catching up in regards to file codecs.

Up until recently they would use a side by side image cramming all the data into one screen compromising resolution. Now enter MVC (Multi View Video Coding) MVC overlaps the two high quality images on top of each other, without any loss in a Mp4 container that is backwards compatible in 2d. Play it in any mp4 compatible player, brilliant! MVC is what will be streaming into the homes in the future with the Super Bowl, World Cup or whatever.

DeepVisions3d always has both Side by Side and MVC.

3D is here to stay people, there is a lack of content and it takes time for complex, expensive technologies to evolve but the shift has happened.

Glassless 3D TV has been revealed.

And by the way Netflix has started streaming Real 3D

problem is the monitors/sets aren't 'projecting' the image.. once that happens i think things will change

the cheapest tv i found for 3D was 6k, and im pretty sure that's with glasses

shoot2thrill 06-20-2013 01:18 PM

Danny Deepwood 06-21-2013 01:00 PM

Perhaps their is a porn application for this one day....when the price drops below $125,000

PR_Glen 06-21-2013 01:11 PM

there is a niche market for it and there probably always will be one, i don't think anyone would disagree with that part.

here's my problem. Have you viewed a movie in 3d at home? Or even in a theatre? Most of us have i'm sure. When you saw this 'new version' of 3d did you think to yourself "this is so awesome i need to see everything this way!" ? I didn't. Not the same way I thought when i first saw hd on a tv.. I'd rather not watch something in 3d because i hate wearing glasses or watching shit with tints because it ruins the colour.

I'm not an authority on the subject by any means but those are my thoughts on it anyway.

Penthouse shoots a lot in 3D
