"We didn't find any part of the airplane that indicated a mechanical failure," one of the whistleblowers says in a trailer for the film. The former officials allege the explosion came from outside the plane, though they don't speculate any further on the original source.
They didn't find any part of the airplane that indicated a mechanical failure. Well, you can understand that being as it crashed into the freaking ocean and didn't leave a neat little pile of debris for you to pick.

Saying "we didn't find any part of the airplane that indicated a mechanical failure" is not the same as "It must have come from outside the plane" or "It must have been a missile". It just means you don't have all of the pieces.

Another of the whistleblowers, former senior accident investigator with the NTSB Hank Hughes, said in a preview of the documentary that FBI agents were spotted on surveillance cameras going through the hanger where the crash evidence was kept "in the wee hours of the morning... for purposes unknown."
Oh my god... What would FBI agents be doing at a hanger first thing in the morning? There must be a conspiracy!

The FBI had a sixteen month investigation, which was not part of the FAA or teh NTSB.

Isn't really strange that the FBI was there at all. In fact, common sense would insist the FBI be there at some point.

Some people are just fucking idiots.

the entire twa flight 800 event is mind-blowing, that was a huge air disaster and the investigation lasted for years with tons of controversy surrounding it, even then. i hope this new documentary is well-done, there are a ton of angles it can pursue.

the real shame is that the NSA's PRISM program wasn't running in 1996. no doubt they woulda stopped this terror attack from happening.

Just goes to show ya, Clit-on, Bushie and Obumma have little to do with the government at hand. Like CONgress, these guys are just actors for the nightly klown show on the picture box.

privatesociety 06-20-2013 03:36 AM

Always baffled me as to why governments would REALLY do this

Matt 26z 06-20-2013 09:38 AM

This was the internet's first big conspiracy theory. Things boiled over when eyewitnesses reported a streak of light traveling from the ground up to the plane and the government stated they were mistaken and that it was burning fuel.

Also of concern was involvement by arms of the government not typically involved in commercial airline crashes. The NTSB had little to do with the investigation at first. The Pentagon was doing everything.

The leading theory at the time was that an Aegis missile was fired from a nearby destroyer and inadvertently hit the plane.

ahh anti-air systems.. i remember the missile story, and i was very young at the time

dyna mo 06-20-2013 09:51 AM

y'all must remember the investigation, the fbi accounted for every missile in the area.

not saying that's my view, but the missile thing was huge then and fully covered then.

+ for me, the telltale reveal was the 747 the investigators setup exactly like flight 800 with ~150 gallons of fuel in the middle tank, let it sit on the tarmac with the gens and a/c going for 2 hours then took off and took measurements, the temp in that tank went way past the flash point for jet fuel.

either way, i am open and looking forward to hearing what new details they have uncovered.

Considering the amount that they did recover I think they know what they are talking about.

And as for that crash scene that the FBI was walking around in?? Well lets say the NTSB has their own PD and security measures while doing an investigation like that and NO ONE walks around un escorted.

Captain Kawaii 06-20-2013 11:34 AM

Yes, I am very curious as to the new evidence and analysis claims. I wonder why now the leakers are leaking?

Summer?
Everyone's leaking why not me?
I'm bored why not leak?
My pension got cut in half - time to leak?

L Pink - your thoughts?
