Man of Steel : Excellent (No spoilers)

In case you haven't seen it yet, Man of Steel is a fantastic movie. Great story (more Sci-fi, more "real", less super-hero). It's interesting from the very beginning and great throughout. The fight scene in Smallville is - beyond cool.

I liked Man of Steel better than Star Trek 2. Thats right, I said it. Better than Trek 2.

Go see it, especially while its in Imax 3D.

Saw this last night in IMAX 3D... pretty epic (except the end really).

Not sure if it's just me or not though, but a lot of the shots were extremely dizzying due to rough/shaky camera movements.

it is an excellent movie, my second favourite comic movie behind The Dark Knight. Also saw world war Z this week, excellent too, been spoilt for movies this past week!

CHMOD 06-24-2013 12:42 AM

I saw it yesterday and I found it very good as well :thumbsup

I really liked it as well, it wasn't perfect for sure (the ending), but it never get's boring to watch. I think the highlight of it is Michael Shannon who pretty much steals every scene he's in, his Zod is awesome.

While it is basically the same storyline of introducing who/what/why he is Superman, it's told in an excellent series of flashbacks spaced nicely throughout the movie, it actually makes the backstory very interesting and not boring. You should check it out honestly, it's very well done. :thumbsup

Watched Man of Steel, World War Z and Now You See Me this past weekend.

Actually I enjoyed Now You See Me the most - even though I'm typically a big sci-fi fan. World War Z I nearly slept through the second half. Man of Steel was good, although I thought the fight scenes tended to drag on (was there a building left standing in the end, lol).

I agree, the Smallville fight was one of the coolest scenes in any movie I've seen in a long time.

I thought it was corny. the fight scenes were really cheesy.

::Superman flies into Zod, pushes him through five buildings::
::Zod flies into Superman! Oh shit. Pushes him through SIX buildings!::

the Smallville fight scenes were so stupid. All the damage and crashes and fighting happens in the middle of the street, and the buildings are left largely unscathed. When the fight is taken to Metropolis, buildings are crushed left and right during the fight.

I liked the actor playing Superman a lot. I thought the pacing of the story and the story itself was pretty rough and unsatisfying.

I know.... when the fight scene started I was thinking... "oh, ok, I've seen this before, this should be - OH... ok wow that was kind of interesting, and - HOLY FUCK WOW that was great!". Not quite sure how they pulled it off but it was great. Best part of the movie for me.
