is "stumblr" too close to "tumblr" for a good adult social networking domain name?

do you think they'd unleash their legal dept. on my ass if I made an adult social network with term "stumblr" in it?

It might be a valuable name if Yahoo purges Tumblr of porn

bns666 06-26-2013 04:04 PM

You should be asking if you would rather pay your attorneys to find out the hard way instead of paying yourself to come up with an equally meaningless catchy made up word that won't run the risk.

take care when experimenting with those social media scripts, i played with one a couple of month ago and it because it was a niche product not maintained very good, (im not sure if it was the same , but very similiar to the one u are using)

it was instantly hacked and exploited because those scripts allow everyone to post and inject shit and shat everywhere

,my entire server was infected with tons of shit after i threw some traffic on it

had to nuke the whole machine and the domain was burned

when thinking of advertising your social network with this name, emphatize the S before the t sound similar but just better!

something like that, people will remember

AdultKing 06-26-2013 11:56 PM

It's way too close and Tumblr have been very aggressive in this area.

freecartoonporn 06-27-2013 12:00 AM

yes..................

Seriously, if you even have to ask that question then you are already in a bad position. The fact that you have now gone and created a permanent public record and been given this sort of feedback makes it even worse.

At this point, you would be nuts to use it.

Take my word for it. It comes from experience. I was once sued because we sold 1 copy of a video called "whoreos" and it sucks balls. Trust me, you would rather spend the money on having a carpenter nail your balls to a board with a rusty nail using a broken hammer before wasting it on that type of law suit. :2 cents:
