Why Does Google Hate Porn?
Penguin, Panda, deleting adult blogs (better not MONETIZE those adult blogs people!!), WTF?
Why does Google hate porn? And a better question(s) may be: how does this affect those that rely mostly on the SEO game? think about it: you spend months (years?) building blogs, trying to get your site a nice PR1 or 2, you're competing again GIANT companies with in-house SEO staffs constantly trying to put their tubes on top....is all that effort now wasted? And another (damn) thing: with all this Google hate towards blogs, sites, etc, how come tubes still rule the day on Google? Why don't they do something about all this FREE PORN everywhere? Google seems to hate anyone making MONEY with porn (don't monetize those adult blogs dammit!) yet they give love to tubes, tubes, tubes, where everything's free and readily available, even to minors and children. So what now? All this seems to accomplish is futher fucking the little Webmasters/companies, letting the "big boys" do whatever the fuck they want. |
"Don't be evil."
Well, most people think porn is evil. |
Some food for thought... there was a time when all you talked about was what was going right. Now? Not so much.
|
because people who run porn sites are often dicks who target non adult words resulting in adult sites coming up for all sorts of things which makes google look bad. so we only have those shitty asshats to blame, not google.
|
Surfers love porn.

You can't even look for something as innocent "baby socks" these days without seeing photos of girls getting railed in the ass and black trannies. |
Someone from Google recently said this to me.
"The adult industry lives inside a fishbowl that is made of clear glass and everyone can see inside that fishbowl and many average people think the fish is ugly." |
it happends to me yesterday :(
they told me today this is the place I am going after death http://i40.tinypic.com/fazcrq.jpg |

Google doesn't make money from adult sites and porn takes up a very large chunk of the internet, a big chunk that google rather not bother indexing. squeeze out the porn sites and put them out of business and google have saved themselves a huge amount of resources.

I would imagine they would have quite the lawsuit on their hands if they banned porn. But let us destroy ourselves, the perfect crime. #conspiracy |
So I guess I was not the only one that got that ridiculous email of google saying that in two days all adult blogs that have any advertisement or are made to make money in any way will be deleted. Well guys, the ones that have adult blogs on blogger, what are you thinking of doing? Taking away the advertisement and links or deleting the blogs?

@Thread: The point is: the blogspot blogs use Google resources for free. Regular blogs give something in return: adsense/adwords revenue. Porn blogs give shit in return: use way more resources than regular blogs (more images, more videos) and don't give a fucking single damn dollar do google. What would you do if you were google? I would kick porn in the ass and say "Hey, go with your naughty shit elsewhere and stop using my god damn bandwidth and servers" |
Google doesn't hate porn, it hates pornographers.
|
sounds like the recent google update was targeting spammy affiliate sites. Payday loan update. so its not specific to porn but specific to affiliates putting up sites that result in junk results to google users.
|
google doesnt hate porn in fact google loves porn!
but they do hate worthless freeloading parasites spreading spam across their network i say fuck ya! thanks google! FUCK worthless FREELOADERS |
Aside from the usual Porn Is Evil factors, IMO we haven't done ourselves any favors with Google and others by being an industry that basically normalizes shitty spammy advertising.
Part of this is due to the affiliate model - producers & site owners contract out the marketing to whoever-the-fuck, including thousands of unqualified people who have no better ideas than to vomit a river of spam, retarded feeder sites, etc, into the internet. It's comical, many the industry's tried & true marketing models are completely unacceptable in other fields because they're obnoxious, spammy, and low quality. It's become a "throw a bunch of shit against the wall & some will stick" business - of course this isn't going to get you credibility with the search engines or other content aggregators. So yeah - there's definitely a puritanical streak at work as always, but don't underestimate the effects of years of useless garbage being pumped into the web by morons in the industry. |
" You are receiving this message because you are the admin of a blog hosted on Blogger which is identified to have Adult content.
Please be advised that on June 30th 2013, we will be updating our Content Policy to strictly prohibit the monetization of Adult content on Blogger. After June 30th 2013, we will be enforcing this policy and will remove blogs which are adult in nature and are displaying advertisements to adult websites. If your adult blog currently has advertisements which are adult in nature, you should remove them as soon as possible as to avoid any potential Terms of Service violation and/or content removals." They don't hate porn or pornographers, they hate not to be able to make money out of it. Even when you have a mainstream blog that they see is making you money and your not using their adwords/adsense soon your blog is called "spam blog" and it is deleted. Money is the word. |
Adsense can't be run on adult sites. Google sends less traffic to adult and more traffic to sites that can run their ads
Part 2. Google gives surfers what they want the most and base their rankings off this. Surfers expect free unlimited porn and the analytics google gathers reflects this. So your blog with 3 pics on it gets ranked far lower while the sites full of full length porn get ranked higher If you run legit sites you are just facing a losing battle with google |
From what I remember google has been shuffling things with porn since its inception. How is it any different now than it has been in the past? They just find new ways to make it harder for us and we bob and weave to find our way back to the top again.
Are they really against us or have some of us gotten tired of running to keep up? |

Search and Adwords are completely separate operations except at the point that Adwords ads are displayed at the top, the side and below the SERPs. |

But I found that, in the current environment with so many companies complaining and going out of biz, programs closing and/or not paying, etc etc the LAST thing (some) people want to hear is "things are going great!". I do my best on here, when I can, to comment in threads from affiliates who are complaining (with good reason) about the current climate to try some of my sites. Some do, many don't. Those that do make better money with their traffic then they did sending it to whomever they were sending it to before. But so many reps come on here going ALL IS AWESOME that I'm afraid MY announcements of gangbuster business would go unheeded at best and ignored (or ridiculed) at worst. :) Quote:

You guys are getting this wrong.. Google does not hate porn. it loves traffic. the more traffic the higher the site is listed.

Because they no longer monetize the porn results like they used to... So porn is useless to them.

Well, I was already going to switch all my blogs to my paid host, but would have been nice to have some time. The respect google have and always had for people that use their services gets on my nerves. And not all webmasters make spam crappy blogs on blogger, I have seen some very good ones with adult content with reviews and so on, its a shame really. |

But the moral of that story is - and you'd think it would have been learned by everyone years ago - host your own sites. The only exception being when you use a platform like Tumblr or whatever that provides added value as a network, but even still always be prepared for a no-notice takedown. In fact, the advance warning Google's given with Blogger is better than what usually goes down. |

As far as Google goes, it's simple.
They seem to be looking at time on the site. A blog can not compete with a tube in that arena. If a guy watches a couple of vids on a tube site he might be there an hour on the site. No way that anybody is gonna read a blog for an hour. That's why tubes are all at the top. Yeah, Pornhub can claim that they have SEO "geniuses" working for them. But Google makes decisions about the relative importance of a site via the tags and text. We all use that...but then they look at how long a surfer stays on that particular site. If they are only on your site a minute of two then you are ranked in that level of importance. However if people are staying on a site for a long time then guess what? All things being equal...Google will go with the site that keeps the surfer longer. |

The problem is the realization is now too late. The free porn monster has been released and even they can do nothing to contain it now. It's out of their hands. But they won't admit that even their businesses are doomed due to their own actions. The smart ones have planned their exit. It's make as much cash as you can in the short term and try to sell out. The really smart ones have already left years ago. |
As for the b/w argument - they are still allowing porn, just don't monetize it. How does that fit into them trying to save bw/resources?
|
If Google ever does ban porn fully it will create tremendous opportunity for an adult only search engine. The problem is in this day and age whoever builds this will have a hell of a time monetizing it when everyone expects it all for free.
|
For those saying it's about bandwidth and resources I say NO WAY. Unless I'm misunderstanding something you merely need to take down the ADVERTISEMENTS on the Blogs, or any way of monetizing the blog. Ads take up very little resources. The photos (and especially videos) that are using said resources can remain so I don't think it's about bandwidth, resources, etc.
I wonder if this includes TEXT links? You know, you write an article for a blog and pepper it with text links. Bad? Quote:
LOL Sorry man, I was writing this as you posted above. :) Quote:
I agree with tubes people will stay on site longer - but that's just because they're searching for something to jack it to. No one goes to a tube and spends an hour on there looking at all the videos, do they? When they find something they like they pull it out and whack it. Or bookmark it to whack it later. But maybe some DO stay on tubes for an hour, fucking around....but how many losers like that are there in the world? Oh wait....LOL |

Still it's ridiculous to only give 3 days notice. It's outrageous actually from a company the size of Google. |

Google hates affiliates, end of. They don't see affiliates as being of service to sponsors - they are too utopian and believe affiliates are evil. Offline equivalent is wiping out the entire salesman industry for being 'leeches'. Too many cunts at G now, when they were a SE they were fantastic. Now they are 'insert whatever the fuck they are, because I don't think anyone even knows', they are shit. How's this for serps, after all the 'great work' they've done over the years, for someone trying to sell a phone in the Ripley area: https://www.google.com/search?as_q=s...=&as_rig hts= be more specific with 'sell my phone ripley': https://www.google.com/search?num=10...rp.rskEH148vQQ Total and utter shit. Sooner all their serps are full of shitty off topic results like this, and everyone switches, the better. |

I wanted to write an essay on this, but I'll try and sum it up in a sentence. Tubes, and free porn in general, offers greater espionage potential.
Suppose a surfer clicks through from a Blogger blog to a paysite, and joins the paysite. At no point in that process has he publically "shared" any personal info about himself. On the other hand, he could create a free profile on Pornhub or Xhamster (or even Blogger) that is a public declaration of his own sexual desires and experiences. If he were a suspicious individual, then the feds could easily cross-check his porn profiles against his mainstream ones, and develop an accurate picture of that individual's public vs private life. I think that could be the key thing here. Google, Facebook and others are pushing a certain "vision" for the web, that is perhaps linked to the Snowden case and the surveillance society he speaks of. From Blogger's own terms of service: Quote:

I can't imagine anyone sitting on a blog reading stuff that long ever. Then as more and more traffic comes to a site like Pornhub (in the millions) it becomes a big self SEO generating monster. Meanwhile, you're little blog with 100 people looking at it for a few seconds simply won't even register on the needle comparatively no matter how much SEO you do. I profited off of this very same thing back when TGP's were big. I remember looking at my server stats on Ampland back in 2006 and we were getting around 100,000 uniques a day just from Google. Of course we already had over a million uniques a day of people who had us bookmarked. Our traffic just grew and grew and grew and our Search Engine placements were at the top. I never did shit for SEO for it...it was just natural (the site was categorized, I wrote original humor text for it everyday, etc.). Plenty of other sites did all kinds of SEO stuff...but we stayed at the top. Couldn't be beat. Just like the tubes do now. No porn site holds people for time-on-site like a tube. It's not even close. And the tubes that hit big in the beginning are the ones who stay on top because as I said it becomes a self-perpetuating machine with amount of traffic and time-on-site. |

if you have an exit link on your site, change that from google to bing.com
Educate your surfers about using Bing instead of google there is only one way to counter google porn bullshit, get surfers to use Bing vs google |
