I heard it's a bit warm in the west US ATM...

It always amazes me you guys are not bitching about it - 1 drop of sweat and I start moaning...

Us Brits are infamous for moaning about our weather, but you can be forgiven for having a bitch when the temps are 120f or more - Go on Americans, get it off your chest.....

Vegas right now 108, high will be 115, sat, sun, mon 117, tues 115, etc

We know its like that in the summer. I'd prefer that rather than 5 degrees in the winter.

Scott McD 06-28-2013 03:01 PM

I think our 3 days of Summer has been and gone.

Oh well, might be better next year :1orglaugh

Yep. Too hot in Oregon. I have basically moved into my office where the AC is.

Sarah_Jayne 06-28-2013 06:50 PM

Unlike the UK, most places here have air conditioning. Not my apartment building but most places...ugh

Another Oregonian here. It is pretty warm (am about to install our new AC actually!) but I do think it's cute when folks here complain about the heat, which is nothing without the east/south/midwest humidity. The summers here are pretty idyllic. Now February, don't get me started....

Most of the summer here is pretty mild. In the low 80's I can handle. The days that suck are the days that get above 90 or when the humidity sets in.

I actually don't mind the winter and the bad weather. I do like that we have four actual seasons. To me fall in the Pacific Northwest is the best. Great weather, trees look amazing.

Not sure what you mean by most places; there are few homes with a/c around here. I know a friend of mine has it, but that is because it is what he does so he installed it himself. I used to go into a couple dozen homes a day 5-6 days a week, and only a handful had a/c.

I guess newer apartments do.

I was more being a smart ass towards the UK and London in particular where even public buildings rarely have AC. So, every year when it gets hot they complain about how nowhere has AC and then talk about how it rarely gets hot enough to need it but then have the same argument the next time.

I wish I could put an AC unit in my apartment but they have dumb windows that make it difficult.

Ah . . . . yeah a few years ago during a real heat wave I bought a stand up portable one from Sly. It is a purchase I have never regretted.

But yeah, we rarely need them.

Sarah_Jayne 06-28-2013 08:34 PM

My windows slide open vertically rather than horizontally and they are tall windows. If I put a unit in, there would be a ton of space at the top and I'm not handy enough (read: not at all) to fill that gap while not pissing off my landlord. Sort of the same problem with the standing ones because most of those need a hose to go out a window.

Sabby 06-28-2013 08:46 PM

Heat wave coming here in western Canada. I am back here in Alberta for a bit... Calgary is a mess.. hope it will dry out.. thank god I didn't buy another property out here..

oldbrad 06-28-2013 08:46 PM

Down here in eugene it was 92 today but 70 with my ac on. We complain about the rain then the heat when it gets sunny lol.

Sabby 06-28-2013 08:52 PM

I fit a free standing air conditioning unit in a patio window. Its not rocket science.

Diomed 06-28-2013 10:09 PM

98f here today in the most humid shithole on earth. Probably not really, but definitely the most humid.

24/7 Blogging Crew 06-29-2013 06:52 PM

it's just not working for me
