How unbelievably sad do you have to be to call a phone number featured in a video game that isn't actually part of the plot? LOL

I was working at a radio station when Sir Mix-A-Lot came out with the song "Beepers". Everyone was calling the number in the song and you actually got the voicemail service sampled in the song. We figured out that a number etched in the vinyl by the label got you past the first menu but never got any further than that. Supposedly the clues were out there for the very clever to get through to his beeper. Something like that wouldn't last a day in internet times:upsidedow

Why the fuck people always have need to call what suppose to be fictional numbers? If you just put random number, there is a chance how someone own it.For example, some poor person was screwed as they had his number as "god" number in movie bruce almighty and people keep calling that number.

When Tommy Tutone came out with the song 867-5309/Jenny it totally disrupted the lives of a number of people around the country unfortunate enough to have that number.:upsidedow

You'd have to be able to prove intent. Without evidence a criminal trial would never fly, a civil case maybe but without proof of it being intentional any award would likely be small, if any.

Plus if a kid called one of those toll-free numbers the most he would be exposed to would be a seductive voice prompting him for a credit card number.:upsidedow

Could have been avoided if the parents gave their children guns.
