Cyberwurx clients - successfully installed wordpress multisites?

Never been able to successfully do this, and attempting again today has still left me unable to do so.

I do all the steps, create a new subdomain, get the email telling me it's been created, except that the domain never actually gets created, and just takes me to a no such website exists page.

Is anyone here using cyberwurx, and successfully running wordpress multisite? Did you have issues at first? Any recollection of how it/they got resolved?

I'd *really* like to get this sorted, but both the tech guy there and myself (though I'm pretty much zero help at all) have hit a brick wall trying to get it up and running :Oh crap

So, purpose of this thread is to find out what the thread title says, to start off with, so that my fault-elimination engineer side of me can go down the list of possible causes of the problem, thanks.

Installing WP is very easy, you can do it in 5 mins, then just activate wildcards and config file. Easy as a cake. I can't believe you are not able to do this.

Don't blame Cyberwurx for your own faults...

BUT, just wondering... why don't ask in BlackHatAdult the "SECRET PRIVATE" forum of DAMAGE X, how to install WPMU?...

You post there dude, every day. And the Big EGO guys seem to know it everything. Ask that idiot DAMAGE X...

BTW, you learn a lot there and you don't share what you learn there, in GFY... Right?

Why don't you share some of the SECRET knowledge you learn in blackhatadult, into GFY ??

People here asked a lot of questions and nobody helped them, but you know the answer... Come on, bring some of the SECRET knowledge of blackhatadult, into GFY.

You come here and ask for help, but you don't give anything back, JEL...

I leave a question for everyone. Are you guys interested in me sharing all that "secret content" in this forum? I have like 90% of their content backed up... Are you guys interested?

If I get at least 50 "YES", I will share everything...

I have never created one before or using cyberwurx but I was just reading this morning how to do it on wordpress using this guide http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

Looks pretty straightforward, don't know if this would help but..

I can't talk for Cyberwurx, as I don't know their setup, but we have a handful of clients running WP Multisite without any issue.

Jel 06-29-2013 02:25 PM

Hey ff, looooong time mate - hope all is great with you and yours :thumbsup

yeah, I'm atm thinking it's something small but overlooked on CW's end. Hopefully I can nut it down with the help of this thread - even though I give nothing back here at gfy :1orglaugh

LouiseLloyd 06-29-2013 02:48 PM

Have you configured wildcard subdomains in your dns settings?

to the point, i am on cyberwurx and you must get them to enable this for you, and then you can run WPMU

Jel 06-29-2013 03:00 PM

<VirtualHost domain.net:80>
ServerAdmin [email protected]
DocumentRoot /web/sites/myaccount/domain.net
ServerName www.domain.net
ServerAlias *.domain.net
CustomLog /var/log/apache/domain.net-combined.log combined
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /web/sites/myaccount/domain.net/cgi-bin/
</VirtualHost>

So yes. wp-config changed as per instructions, htaccess changed as per instructions, blogs.dir created, set to 777 as instructed.

Does everything through the process of creating a new subdomain, including the success email, except the newly created subdomains simply 404

What's the .htaccess that you're using? And did you copy/paste what WP gave you during setup there and did you overwrite previous rules?

You post there all day, but NOW your guys from BHA can't help you and you come here?? Hmm? Idiot..

You suck all the info from BHA and you don't post anything here in GFY... But when you need help, you come here and ask?

waaahwaahwaah - still pissed off that nobody anywhere will spoonfeed you?

Read the OP you fucking spastic cunt, or are all cyberwurx tech guys idiots too, seeing as how they are also having a problem resolving this?

I post plenty of info here numbnuts, it's just that YOU are way too fucking stupid to comprehend it - like I said, even when you are spoonfed info.

Remind me again of any help you have given here? Or anywhere for that matter? The people who know me, and are the ones that matter, know I've given more than my fair share of info over the years, but if you want to keep crying like a little girl because I, or someone else, didn't give you an a-b-c guided tour of how to make your milk money then knock yourself out, you cry-baby cunt :thumbsup

and I agree, cyberwurx rocks - I've been with them 10+ years and praise them every chance I get. If you could speak English you'd understand this isn't a thread even slightly bashing CW. Prick.

sorry missed this.

htaccess:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

# uploaded files
RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]

And yes, and yes.

wp-config:
define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);

define('MULTISITE', true);
define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true);
define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'domain.net');
define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

(tried with that, and also replacing the first line so only):

define('MULTISITE', true);
define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true);
define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'domain.net');
define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);

That's what I told him in the first line of the first answer.

But the guy is just a clueless person, who doesn't have any clue about anything.

JEL, go and ask your friend in BHA... They will surely help you. Ask DAMAGE. That old 40's year old will surely help you if he's not exiled from his Nordic Country for reasons he can't really tell you. Muahahaha... Dracula rocks. :pimp (Nobody will understand this last line, besides Damage).

TROLLENSTEIN 06-29-2013 03:59 PM

Could be something simple like
Quote:

service httpd restart
to let Apache serve the new domain :)

tonyparra 06-29-2013 04:07 PM

Im on cyberwurx i have 4 wpmu installs there on same account and never had any issues. Are you on vps or a dedicated server?

Are you

a)12
b)drunk
c)high
d)a backwards cunt
e)unable to comprehend English
f)all of the above?

No wonder you were unable to make your milk money even when you were explicitly told how-to-do-a-certain-thing-to-make-money... you can't even comprehend my opening post, nor the fact the tech guys (2 so far) have hit a brick wall with it (hey, it happens, not everyone knows everything), nor the fact the whole point of the thread is to see if others on cw have had a problem, nor the fact I already alluded to - and stated plain as day that CW are a great company, who I have a fantastic working relationship with, nor the fact I don't have the access to change the wildcard settings, nor the fact that even if I did I wouldn't know how to, which is why I put in the ticket in the first place.

You really are a stupid cunt aren't you, it's not even an act :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

So I believe that's been done :thumbsup

And its sub domains correct? Its definetly not wp itself but some setting on your server. I could try a set it up for you if you want (Multi Site)

Try this one, that looks like earlier WP .htaccess (3.4.2-):

Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

# add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
RewriteRule ^wp-admin$ wp-admin/ [R=301,L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteRule ^(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
RewriteRule ^(.*\.php)$ wp/$1 [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]

Your wp-config code is fine.

Jel 06-29-2013 05:28 PM

thats the htaccess it spat at me on attempt #1 with 3.4.1 I *think*, now you say that. Possible I kept the same htaccess after the 3.5.2 install, I'll try that too :thumbsup

Jel 06-30-2013 03:03 AM

heh

Ok, this should be fixed. It was unfortunately a DNS change that was needed so the change may take 24-48 hours to take full effect though after that you'll be good to go!

If you still see problems, let us know but things seem to work ok here locally.
Thank fuck for that :D Thanks everyone who took the time to help, much appreciated :thumbsup
