its interesting how the image of muslim people changed during the years in western media...very interesting...wonder why ?

i'm assuming that movie portrayed the Mujahideen sympathetically ----> 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'

there was oil in the Middle East ages before that war - no sure what point you're making.

which war ? maybe US companies get better contracts before chomeini ?

Yeah, US sentiment towards Afghanistan changed a little bit after we discovered they were harboring a terrorist responsible for the deaths of nearly 3,000 citizens. WTF...

Just watch the movie(or better yet, read the book) Charlie Wilson's War.
