What do you Recomend for Login Scripts

Hey GFY. Tell me the ups and downs of a php vs. javascr for simple login authorization. I can pop a protected apache .htpasswd auth. window but cant make it query and decrypt the .htpasswd file unless I add it manually.

Help a cracka super coders.

Thanks in advance:)

You can't do secure login with straight frontend javascript. You will need some sort of serverside authentication.

OK. I can make it as secure as possible by servr auth. but not sure how to add a Success or try again or sign up here! if it fails. I could play with error pages but doesn't seem the way.

Everybody seems to use js to call up a login window and response.

What exactly are you trying to do? Authenticate users via php (or similar) against a .htaccess file?

Yes. I get a few people asking wheres the login. Although your prompted when clicking on a video that is pass protected(24 hour cookie IP before login in again). I want to pop a login from a link that calls on htpasswd but i cant figure out the error pages to either join page on fail or keep them on the same page for success. When I add a user manually I can force the pop by max-hardcore.com/vids/ and it works=success but not for any existing members.

Talking to Certified. They got me covered I think. htaccess shit.
