Correct. Florida has a 2 party consent law that prohibits recording someone without their permission. A law that sucks or protects based on what side of the recorder you are on.

Most states have a form of self defense/stand your ground law. Florida's is a little broader since us old people can't be expected to turn and run when trouble confronts us. :)

As far as protecting gang members, they are citizens first aren't they?
