Anderson Silva lost!
The guy is not great for the sport but he is an amazing fighter and then to lose this way... Talk a blow to him and the sport.
over estimated himself, under estimated his opponent, got knocked the fuck out...
Doesn't anyone ever learn from history? The number of boxers who have done the same thing is legendary.
I've just seen the "highlights" of this, don't watch UFC myself. But that honestly looked like it was fixed/rigged/staged whatever you want to call it.
Not sure if it's bad for the sport. That's why UFC is good anyone can win on any given day.
No Silva has done this exact stuff before. It was the first time someone caught him is all. He just has a really fucked up mental game. He talks about being humble and he bows on his knees to the opponent after he wins but taunts and clowns during the fight. Totally messed up.
Wiedman won... much more than Silva lost.
I was so glad to see him knocked out. So arrogant and overconfident. You can bet he won't pull that crap again. Nice to see him get booed for it too.
It's a fucking street fight. Anyone could win. Give me few bottles of vodka I will beat his ass too
This is setting up for a nice rematch. When is the next pay per view bar fight?
UFC has become more entertainment than a sport. This fight was an absolute joke to say the least.
I hate cocky fighters like that and glad to see him get knocked out
That was so frustrating to see Anderson lose by clowning around like that and getting caught. He kept saying in the post-fight interview that he respects the UFC & the fans, but I don't think he showed respect by toying with a serious challenger like that and getting knocked out. Especially since he may have very well won the fight if he took it seriously. Even more frustrating that he said he was retiring- at least from fighting for the belt- afterwards. Really, this was a blow to the sport.
He deserved it. He did the same thing in UFC 112 against Damian Maia. It turned out differently and he won that fight but for a time he lost a lot of fans due to his clowning. This time it helped to cost him the belt. I think he would have lost regardless though. At 38 his age has been slowly eating away at his speed.
What some people don't realize too about fighting is that in truth at just the right angle and upon hitting just the right spot (a million to one) your average ten year old girl could probably knock out a 250 pound MMA fighter. No one is invincible. No one. |
Wow and I was waiting to see Silva vs GSP. Guess now it really doesn't matter much. All that clowning around and eventually he paid the price. lol

Silva is a great fighter. He has incredible ability. I think he grossly underestimated his opponent and it cost him. It will be interesting to see how he does in his next fight. I have a feeling the clowning and showboating will be gone. |

He deserved it. He is a clown. He is rich enough to play games thinking he is a God. Now he saw the kind of God he is! A fucking loser.
Even so he still made US$ 1.6 million with that dance. |
Used to love watching him fight, i let out a cheer when he got sparked out, totally dis-resepectful and got what he deserved. Wiedman didnt allow himself to get suckered in, good job.
I have had that on repeat today!
Silva is a deadset cock the way he fucks up fights like that! Next to see is Jon Jones, would love to see him getting the kick shitted out of him ;)! Also with re to his post fight interview - it almost sounds as though he has been wanting to get rid of the pressure of the belt for some time, hence the idiotic shit he does during fights. |

If I was sponsoring him, I'd make a big publicity stunt to switch it over to the new champ.
I enjoyed watching him get KO'd It is about time :)

I love how everyone assumes Silva threw the fight and discredits Weidman's ability as a fighter.

Reminds me of Lock Stock; "They'll hang us from the ring ropes, if they think it's rigged!" Luckily UFC uses a cage :1orglaugh |

Nothing against the other guy, he knocked Silva the fuck out. |

The fact is, he played those silly little games one too many times and paid the price. Nothing more. And one very easy example of many that he didn't throw the fight: if that crescent kick would have landed, I'm pretty sure Weidman would have been lights out. UFC isn't wrestling, they don't spend countless hours choreographing knockout blows/kicks and submissions that could very easily injure you for life... Man, there are far too many conspiracy theorists these days... |

bottom line he threw the fight... period.... and yes turd... I have plenty to back up the investigation you obviously have your head so far up your ass it does not matter what I show you anyways.... for sure when it comes to UFC and it's inner workings I would say on this board I am an expert.... ive cornered UFC fighters many times.. I KO Dana White's cousin in a fight first round. ive managed UFC fighters... and I have saturday starbucks with NSAC guys.... not to mention I just left a manager posotion UFC Gym... and those who know me know I HATE anderson... I called Chris beating him months ago... Chris is the new champ.. and will have a hard time anyone beating him.... But.... anderson threw the fight.... bottom line.... there are tell signs he threw the fight vs being cocky and showboating.... this was a throw ... not a fix... a fix both fighters know whats going to happen... this one ... only anderson knew.... oh not to mention the 2 million dollar cash bet that went for wideman..... |
Quote:
Anderson wants boxing and I don't blame him... Anderson is no where near pro boxer level at all... I know amateur kids 12 years old that would tear anderson up in a boxing only match... but the bottom line is... the lowest man on the totem pole for a boxing PPV event will make 3x the amount of a main event UFC fighter..... for instance chris wideman made 48k last night... he's been off a year waiting for the fight.... sponsors prolly pay him 3-4k per month after all is said and done... id say 1500-2000 of that sponsor money go's to his team each month maybe more.... so in reality chris wideman prolly made 70k over the last year... thats about to change now he's the champ.... Quote:
wideman is legit ... great fighter... but he did not hit anderson hard... my 8 year old could have taken that punch... wideman was tired.. and fading out.... |
is this the dude that did those round house kicks no one liked?

And I still disagree with you that he threw the fight... this also coming from someone who cannot stand Silva -- I hate him specifically for those silly antics, Rashad Evans' clown ass too -- because he tried to take Weidmans head off several times; and if he really wanted to throw the fight then he wouldn't have fought so hard to get off the ground in round 1, and then try so hard (successfully) to keep the fight standing where he (thought) he had the advantage. Silva tried to get in Weidmans head with those stupid antics, like he has done many times in the past, and instead Weidman got into Silva's head with a fist and knocked him the fuck out. Thanks for playing though... |

And then claiming your 8 year old could have taken that punch... get the fuck out of here. |
Dirtydanza - interesting you say that, what are the tells you see or saw?

DirtyDanza,
It's an interesting theory that Silva wants to be a boxer but there's a couple things which don't seem to connect with that. 1. He just signed a 10 fight UFC contract. 2. He's 38 so he is hardly in his prime to become a boxer. 3. You say he isn't at pro level for boxing so how could he want to do that? If he threw the fight (and that's a really big if) I could see him throwing it as a way to tell the UFC to fuck off but then again there are lots of other ways to do that and he certainly wouldn't starve if he did. I could totally see him being pissed over money or the way the UFC does things though. Considering that the PPV numbers alone probably did over $40 million I could see why he might think the million or so he now gets a fight isn't fair. But man, even with that shocking video it seems tough to believe he threw the fight. |
