Does your memory suck ??

You hear people say their memory isn't so good all the time. But how good/bad is your memory ?

Judging by today i think mine is getting worse, and i'm only 32 :helpme

What was the question?

dyna mo 07-08-2013 01:46 PM

a lot of things i can't be bothered with anymore, internet trivia and factoid crud that occupies brain space when it's 1-2 seconds away on the internet, for example. phone #s, addresses, why bother. i try now to try and remember more overall themes of issues after learning the details/nuances.

if you play video games you exercise your memory, hand-eye coordination, etc. play guitar, all good for memory.

Right now twenty million monitor-tanned basement dwelling kids are standing up and clapping, and printing your post out to show their moms.

Alzheimer's runs in the family.

But not sure if having dementia at an old age would be a blessing or a curse.

I mean, I don't want to be aware that I'm dying.

I have great memory... and I drink to combat it.

My bad memory has gotten to the point I actually believe I was well-behaved in the 80s & 90s.

mineistaken 07-08-2013 03:31 PM

describe what you call bad memory

Jel 07-08-2013 03:37 PM

41 here and my short term memory is sketchy at times. Can't tell you how many times I've needed to open a new tab to do something, and by the time I've opened it, forgot what it was I opened it for. Fucking infuriating lol, especially after I've finished giving myself a bollocking, and saying wtf a few times, then remembering what I need/want to do, and then telling myself how I can't believe that just happened again, and agreeing with myself.

But, tbh, I'm not all there at the best of times :)

Same in my family.

Convinced it is a coping mechanism. It is frustrating for loved ones but they always seem to be in a happy world.

Like a lady I know who loved knitting. At the end she couldn't do it anymore but made the actions with her hands and seemed so happy. She didn't know she wasn't actually doing it.

"my memory is so bad, I could arrange my own surprise party"...

AllAboutCams 07-09-2013 04:20 AM

I had to scroll back up to the top to see what everyone was talking about.

dehash 07-09-2013 04:22 AM

I think you need to train you memory all the time. My cars plate numbers? Fuck, I don't know, I just got new plates (3 years ago!). My home phone number? Don't know, it is on cell phone under "Home". What was this new guy name? Fuck, I didn't really bother to memorize.

But we both not your memory is not that bad :)
I asked to describe because many people forget something and one may think that its very bad, another may think that is natural and happens to most :)

Chosen 07-09-2013 05:17 AM

Mine is good :pimp

I was only quoting a joke I heard a while back, haha.

I think most people forget shit every so often, but when you forget stuff most days, then I guess that counts as having an actual bad memory. Or when you forget the very simple things you should remember, like bank card pins etc...
