How many domains bought by cybersquatters get released back to the market?

I mean all those "keyword" domains bought by squatters. That business is definitely in decline and money are required to keep domain portfolio.
Is there any statistics or trends you see regarding those parked domains?
I'm not talking about gigs, but very low type-ins keywords like excellentporn.com, pornexpert.com etc bought in a bulk

I can tell you first had as a registrar owner that the good domains never get released back in to the market. All registrar-s do it, especially for the keyword domains. I have seen domains disappear from "registrar hold" and not go in to pending delete at all.

Some registrars have began to buy up generic names like

tomsmith.com
joesmith.com
mikesmith.com
garrysmith.com

ect ect

they register literally 1000-s of variations of popular christian names and then peddle them for 599$ :1orglaugh

My company acquired a registrar to round up its hosting offer and I had no idea how crooked everything is in the registrar world until I tried to drop catch some semi valuable domains only to see them disappear completely poof and they are no longer pending delete :D

takes very little sales to maintain a large portfolio, I have held 500+ keyword .coms for 10+ years, only need to sell 1 at slightly over 4k a year to maintain the other 499 :2 cents:

Domains like that usually don't drop and folks that own them aren't squatters (or at least technically cybersquatters). Cybersquatters would be buying typos of existing sites or domains like GooglePorn.com, and with parking having gone downhill and more and more TM holders understanding they can usually take the lead and get them easily with a legal threat, the risk isn't worth the reward as much anymore, so a lot of those are likely dropping vs. the past.

I would say adult domains in general are dropping more than in the past due to the difficulty of making money in adult going up. I sell adult domains and business isn't quite what it used to be. Thanks, tubes.
